So where is Lance McCutcheon on the WR depth chart.

Still early, but he continues to shine.
Haven't been able to observe his blocking ability.

There's only one thing I know for sure.
He fits the description of what Stafford likes at
receiver to a "T" - A WR that tracks well and wins 50/50 balls.
Something our current WR3 struggles to do.

Anybody got a thought or something I have failed to interject?

The Rams have done a makeover of the WR core to bigger, taller stronger guys to fit the Stafford offense rather than the Goff offense.

I’m not a big fan of Van and he was drafted for the Goff offense, so I’d welcome McCutcheon to become a depth guy behind Kupp, Robinson.

If Tutu can develop we’ll need his speed and change up ability obviously.

Then there’s OBJ. A lot to unpack.

It seems like maybe all these big ass wideouts have given the Rams flexibility with the TE depth. Might be in part why they cut Blanton, well that and Hop taking that two role.

With the amount of 11 we run and Higs as the TE1 role and Blanton as TE2 why not just keep big wideouts thereafter. Taking that a bit further maybe they keep Harris instead of that TE4. Though for the record I do think Harris is done here, think he's squeezed out but McVay probably sees what he might be and that may be enough.

I believe McCutcheon makes Van Jefferson our #1 trade bait for 2023, if Van has a decent season he should command a decent draft pick as compensation.

That's strange since Van was "the deep guy with speed" in the offense with Stafford last year now he's not good enough in year two with Stafford?

He belongs ahead of Skowronek. McCutcheon finds the ball and goes and gets it. Skow loses the ball and has no idea where it is. I know this is harsh but Skow isn't good enough to be on this roster.

If he’s blocking, then in time he will surpass Skowronek as the fourth receiver.

Tutu is only going to be a situational player. He won’t be able to block, so he is limited.

Yeah, I think Skow could be a key guy this yr. A lot of rookies get the dropsies. Kupp dropped some his rookie yr, not that I expect Skow to be Kupp, but he could be a nice possession guy, and if you get an injury, I think he could step up.

I don’t think this answer is a clear and easy linear one. Realistically, it would change up depending on the specific situation, opponent, play, etc.
It’s a fun discussion topic for fans. But it’s more involved than simply WR1, 2, 3, etc. - especially for the back half.

From what Ive seen of McCutcheon he belongs ahead of Skowronek and Tutu. But… we don’t know his full abilities. Can he block? Is he savvy enough for the Pro level? But man…. The kid looks to good to let him slip away.
