Common sense says kick the FG and if they had they would have won. The Hawks tried a 2pt conversion and it failed end of story. A bad decision by a coach who simply didn't really know who he was playing against. In reality Cousin's lost the game at the beginning of the 3rd qtr. That fumble and INT got the Hawks back in the game.
All that said I think the Rams can beat Seattle. But Wilson is a HOF level QB so they will always have a chance. That's why I assume a split with them. Right now 14-2 as I have always thought, looks like a strong possibility. The two games with the Hawks and the Pats are the only really tough games on their schedule now. Tampa is improved but IMO not enough. Chicago doesn't have a QB. The main thing is the Rams control their own destiny. Sweeping the division as I see possible would guarantee them the division IMO.
I think the Niners are done. Jimmy G tried to come back too early. He isn't an elite QB by any measure even before the injury. It's clear he's not 100% and the Niners were stupid to bring him back too early. IMO they will probably release him if not before next season then soon after it. His cap of $29.6M with a dead of $2.8M next year is a huge incentive for them to tank this year to get a QB in the next draft.
That's why I've always considered the real competition within the division as being Seattle. As long as they have Wilson they are dangerous. If the Rams can sweep Seattle the division is theirs. I think AZ is over rated and the Niners are done.
