Reaching for what? The defense broke down in the 2nd half and couldnt stop a weak offense. Did we watch the same game?
The defense played more than well enough to win. They got stuck with short fields and robbed of an INT at the end. But blame it on the defense all you want. But the defense threw a pick six and abandoned the run in the third quarter, right?

If they just stop one 2 point conversion they likley can win that game with a FG at the end. Obviously game situations change, but the inability to come up with a stop of any kind, in the 3rd quarter, killed them. At least they made a few in the 4th even if they all didn't count.
The O coming out flat with 2, 3 and outs didn't help the D. The O getting penalties when in the red zone and only getting FGs didn't help

The defense gave up back to back TD drives and 2 point conversions, Denver went thru like a hot knife thru butter. And after taking the lead late, they couldnt stop Denver from easily converting a 2nd and 20. Yes, the defense is a problem.
Giving up 23 2nd half points is not playing well enough to win
And btw, where did I solely blame the defense? Answer, I didnt... There were plenty of issues that led to the loss, however many of them could have been mitigated by the defense doing its job

I still don't believe in the rigged conspiracy. But I hate when refs inject themselves in the game to the point where what they do is a deciding factor.
Of course its not rigged, that's just silly talk. But the incompetence of the officials and the inability for the NFL to adjust for it is maddening. I look at MLB and applaud them for making their change, the replay on pitches has been a huge success and hasnt added any time to the game. How the NFL cant come up with something similar is beyond me

The refs union probably doesn't want the world to see how many mistakes they make.

The problem is it looked worse from the back official's viewpoint, but then the guy in the front needs to step in and tell him it was a flop. They need to be able to communicate that. It's like these guys are afraid to overrule each other.

I'm sure they are. Its probably a them against us culture among refs. Even if one clearly got it wrong the others hate to correct that and make him look bad.

I was a fan back when George Allen was coach and Roman Gabriel was QB, and the defense was the Fearsome Foursome. What an era.

The Mcvay era has produced some excellent results, but some very strange results as well. They won a Super Bowl. However, this particular team isn't very good right now imo. Is it coaching, is it injuries, is it long flights to another continent, is it high altitudes? All of the above?

Whatever it may be, with their remaining schedule it's hard for me to believe they're playoff bound. I hope I'm wrong.

With that said, if it weren't for the bad refs, the Rams may have won...and then again.

I've never seen you this negative
Totally fair. I'm terrible on gameday and should stay off the threads.
What I will say is that I was reacting to the energy I saw coming from the team after halftime. Looked like they felt they just had to stick around for another half to win. The first series on O was atrocious and then we saw the Special Teams doing its thing.

This is one game. I haven't lost faith for the season.

I have recovered some footage of Bryant training for that play...

...Just uncanny how disciplined that route was from practice.

Hufanga was over the top of Parkinson until after Stafford throws it when he triggers on Davante. There might have been a jump ball if he throws to the end zone or a catch and broken tackle attempt if he throws underneath to Park but nobody was open on that play.
Agree. Would have preferred he throw short of the endzone and give a ball carrier a shot to get in. But it is what it is.
