I'm not a big Goff fan, but even I don't think he should be ranked #31. I mean, guys that have never taken an NFL snap and guys that will be benched in a few games are better than a guy that's been to a couple pro bowls and won playoff games?

I'd say Stafford at #8 is pretty close to where he should be, really good, but maybe not elite unless he wins a SB here.

I can't cosign any QB list that has 3 unprpven rookies in the top 32, not to mention the ridiculous order he has them. Simms is the other half of the good cop / bad cop act with Florio. Anybody who perfoms that schtick is strictly an entertainer, not a serious analyst. He had a lascerated spleen in the NFL and a lascerated brain since becoming a talkimg head.

I think a lot of nay-sayers haven't really watched him play to realize how special of a talent he is.
Nay-sayers? I haven't read every single ROD thread, but I thought the general consensus on Stafford around here was "peeing pants with excitement." Or something like that.

Yeah there was a lot of doom-and-gloom in the first 24 hours after the trade, but after that initial shock wore off, I thought just about everyone was on board the Stafford train.

Ah, okay. That makes sense.

Yeah, I was one of those who under-rated Stafford until I had a chance to see more of his highlights and how often analysts praised the heck out of him. This season is gonna be a great ride.

I know a lot of people around here don't like Chris Simms. IMO a big part of it was his criticism of Goff. The same concerns many people around here shared as well, but I never found him as insufferable as Mike Florio who is just a total idiot. Simms has actually been pretty spot on in his QB draft evaluations the last 5 years or so.

Anyways, he's in the process of ranking his top 40 NFL QBs, and today Stafford came in at #8. Definitely worth a listen as he gives Matt a ton of praise many around here should hear.

Sorry, I'm not buying anything this dude says about anyone. End of story. Not as bad as Florio is NOT a recommendation. Some thing can be true... but it's not because these bozos are saying it.

Agree, Simms credibility is blown the second you see the entire list, and that is not including everything he as said prior to this.

Stafford is probably a top 10 QB but like some of us have said, coming to the Rams is a game changer in many ways for him. There's a lot more pressure on him now, to get this team to the Super Bowl, and one that is being played in their own stadium, and the first year that fans can attend games. Team's media and promotion department are going to be hyping up this team's championship chances like it's their birthright this year. Which wasn't ever something Stafford had to play with in Detroit.

Agree with others that Simms endorsement is something we don't need. I don't think he ever ranked Goff as a top 20 QB in the NFL, which means he always considered him a below average starter. Like most of Goff's detractors, he decided what Goff was and wasn't capable of early on, and never moved off it.

But it wasn't just Goff. He's passive aggressive and mocking of a lot of QBs in the league, including Blake Bortles when he was here. And there was the time on his radio show in which he called McVay a cheater and his pre snap communication with Goff was "unethical".

Stafford is a top ten QB with a big gun, but fk Chris Simms and anything he has to say about the Rams.

I have to believe that he's a top 3-5 QB talent. He kinda HAS to be a better option than Kyler Murray and at least as good as Wilson or this trade loses some of its shine to me.

So until proven otherwise, I'm saying Stafford is only behind Mahomes and Rodgers... and at worst is tied for third in the next tier with a few other guys like Wilson.

Wilson is a bonafide top 5 QB. He would be worth more than Stafford was in a trade.

I agree that Stafford is (and should be) better than Murray, but Wilson is a stretch too far IMO.
