We don't know how long Stafford will play, but the Rams should sign Willis to a FA contract and use their two number one picks for either a CB, OL or a speed receiver. Tutu will be gone - give his $10M to Stafford. Willis will learn under Matthew and get a year under McVay. He'll be 27 next year and have about ten years to thrive in LA. He's smart, athletic and accurate.

I don't think its the worst idea at all if he's ok sitting behind Stafford for at least a year unless Stafford unexpectedly retires. I personally don't get why most people think we'll draft an OL (OT for example) when we have Jackson signed and McClendon playing great on the other side this year. I could see the Rams passing on OL to go CB or WR for their first pick. The shocker would be getting Love to add a home run dual threat to the backfield lol

I actually don't think that it's too crazy. Willis actually has looked good when he's had his opportunities in Green Bay. He came out of a broken Tennessee team that has drafted him, then Levis, then Ward, all without much success.

The issue I see is that unless Stafford decides to retire, I don't see us spending high on a quarterback this year. We're not the only team Willis could go to, and with the now complete dearth of actual good quarterbacks in this class (aside from Mendoza and Simpson with Moore, Sellers, Sorsby, and Mensah either very likely returning or confirmed to return to college - and even Simpson could end up returning - it's very bare.), I could see some teams paying through the nose to get a potential starter in free agency, and Willis might be the best young guy with potential on that list.

Yeah, I think it will be CB/WR in rd 1 in some order. Now, unless a special talent falls to them with that first pick. They can draft a swing OT later.

Let’s not forget that Willis already knows the system…

I’m not against the idea of Willis. Rams are not going to be in position for a top prospect, and Burrow is a dream that you can’t count on. If you can get a QB that just happened to develop slower and can now play at a high level, it can change a franchise (see Seattle)

I don't hate the idea at all.

People have suggested he's on his way to Miami... but.. they're actually OVER the cap for 26 already.
The Rams are in remarkably good shape... good enough to sign Willis and build an amazing roster.

Before people say he's too short.. and he's short... McVay loved him some Wolford and has kept Bennett around.

With all the QB needy teams we're thinking he'll be happy to sign for backup money and be a backup here instead of going for a starting job? Also a week ago all anybody here could have told you about Willis was he was a busted Titans draft pick and he sucked. Now one start where he was pretty good he's the future? Color me a sceptic though I didn't write him off after his time in Tennessee either.

It depends on want Willis wants. If he sees a path to play under a great mind lie like McVay, it could be in the cards. I'd think he'd know the value of coaching after being in shitty Tennessee then getting coached by a much better staff in GB. However, I could see him betting on himself and taking the money too (if it's there).

I can’t see McVay with a dual threat gimmick QB.

Floor is low and ceiling is low as well.

Purely my opinion only.
Why do you cal him a "gimmick QB"?

Did you watch him against the Ravens?

The ceiling? The ceiling is a better version of Murray.. Willis has an absolute effing cannon and throws an absolutely beautiful ball.

I don't know how good he's going to get, but he's already showing real command of an NFL offense.. AND can run like hell if needed.

I think I’d be more interested in Levis. Should be extremely Cheap and a good reclamation guy. I don’t blame him for sucking on that team.

One game.

I also remember a back up QB for the Packers by the name of Matt Flynn who threw six touchdowns and looked like the next great QB.

He signs a decent contract with Seattle and then never starts (beat out by a rookie Russell Wilson)

I’m all for signing him, but we must temper any kind of expectations.
