I'm asking you guys.

I don't think anyone inside the building would be an upgrade, so you'd have to go outside of the organisation, which leads to the same problem, especially if you're doing it in the middle of the season. Doesn't seem like a good move to me.

How exactly would firing the DC in the middle of the season make our defense better? Just someone with less experience will step in and continue using his system for the rest of the season. Nah, we are stuck with Morris for the season. It'd be really really dumb to fire him mid season.

Well Morris has one year experience being a D coord. So experience doesn't seem to be a strong requirement for the Rams brass

Good chance the Rams will reach the bye with at least 8 wins. Odd time to talk about firing a DC.

My vote is “no.”

Ask again after the season is over.

He's showing improvement. But 3rd down Defense needs fixed bad. And frankly, if we NEEDED a 3 and out, I still don't feel confident at all they could pull it off.. YET

I kinda think we've got too many fans in the "I WANT IT NOW" mode with the defense. The Rams lost key pieces in J J and Brockers. There's a new DC on the block and it's almost mid season.

The defense is good...but not great. Last I checked, that can get you a Super Bowl. Last year the defense peaked post mid season.

Have some patience...

Am I watching the same team as you? No! There have been plenty of stands and we have dealt with injuries. You cannot put every bad play on Morris or the play calling just like you can’t expect players not to make mistakes

We are 6 and 1, correct?

Now special teams, that’s a different story...

And special teams is a weird thing. It is always easy to say ST is bad fire the Coordinator, but the thing about ST is that it is a lot of the bottom of the roster guys, and with our super top-heavy roster, I think some of it is just a byproduct of the way our roster is built. But, they do not seem to be well coached this year, and didn't last year either.

I have always felt like McVay doesn't prioritize special teams. Remember Fisher? He would tell bottom roster types that X roster spots were open and they'd run a ST practice for guys to win them. McVay is much more about keeping guys with some upside mixed in with those ST core types.

That said they did a good job this year I thought by identifying bottom roster types who will help on teams (Skow, Harris, Funk) so he's started to prioritize that a bit more. Maybe he just needs a ST coach who he trusts when he tells him that they need a little more focus or time or personnel dedicated to that phase. Or a ST coach with a dynamic personality who will jump on his desk and get what he wants. :laugh4:

How about just taking a keen when the ball is kicked to the end zone and start at the 25 instead of the 15.

Nah, his defense held the Giants to 11 points and the Lions to 19. He's the goat.

Agree 100%. I just can't pin down how much of our bad STs I would blame on our STC. Couple plays Yesterday looked like coaching/scheme issues. Also like @Ramstien stated in the post above yours. Just down it and take it at the 25.

Didn’t hear many posters complain about Wade Phillips’s scheme during our 2018 Super Bowl run; that defense was notorious for giving up big plays as well

I’ll reserve my complaints to Morris’s scheme when it costs us playoff game

I see last years incredible defense got some people spoiled here. Not really sure how this is even a question to be asked tbh

Held Bucs to second lowest point total on the season.
Don’t know what your standard is, but that’s good.
and that's the thing.... aside from the Bucs game the Bend-Don't-Break (BDB) defense might work with lesser talented teams, but not sure this philosophy will work against the Redbird, cheese heads, or any other team we might face in the playoffs. So yea...hoping we get a lot stingy on D as the season progresses.

Not yet. They are obviously about to bring in a CB and then see if they can fix some of the secondary issues.

The playoff teams have multiple WR targets that need to be covered. Cowboys, Packers, Zona and Bucs.

Most of those teams go 3-4 deep at WR/TE. We need horses.

With Williams & Rochell healthy, I think they’re okay at Corner, but adding there wouldn’t shock me.

Well said not to mention Bucs had no Antonio Brown. Huge difference. Nobody on the league nobody at all has a 3rd receiver better than AB.
