So he was expected to overtake Kupp as the #1?
Id say it’s debatable whos 2/3 heading in to ‘23 between he and Robinson.
Doubtful. But, but I don't believe they really planned on giving BOTH Kupp and Woods new contracts.
And my guess is when they drafted him, they didn't envision a further need to go get Odell or Robinson thereafter.

Moving him doesn't save any cap this year or next and he's a bargain for what he gets paid.

We wouldn't get much for moving him now.
Best to keep him, hope he has a great year, improves his value and helps us win some games.

He's a damn good value at 1.7mil, which about what low tier FAs get who don't have near as much skill or upside.
No real reason to move him unless some team gives us a good offer.

They did allow Robinson to explore the trade market. So perhaps they think a healthy VJ in a contract year might handle #2? I'd rather he and ARob battle it out.

The answer is no but on this board I first saw the term JAG used and #12 is definitely just that. I hope he proves me wrong but he's been given several opportunities over the last couple of years to step up and has failed to do so.

I recently went back and started watching the highlights of the 2021 games. VJ was off to a hot start and looked poised for a big year if he continued like he played the first 7 games. The Rams were 6-1 after beating up on the texans.
…but he went down hard in that game after a long reception and looked hobbled after the play. Maybe that is where his knee was injured, affecting his play from then on. He still ended up with solid #s as the #3 WR, but who knows? Maybe he was dealing with the injury that eventually necessitated surgery.

Jefferson can play all three WR positions A. Rob is strictly a XWR. So you get rid of Jefferson and keep Robinson? Or you would get rid of both Jefferson and Robinson the only XWR on the roster? At what time do you say enough is enough? Spend another pick on a WR to replace Jefferson? Good luck finding one in the 5th round that can play immediately as an X starter. Van is only making #1.785M this year WTF do people want to move him? He's in a contract year and is a bonafide #2WR on this team.

You guys don't make sense, you overvalue draft picks. All for what may be a third round pick in the middle or bottom of the round? You guys are chasing the mythical perfect roster. The Ram's roster wasn't perfect when they won the Lombardi and guess what? Jefferson was a big part of that SB run and you want to trade him for a low day 2 pick? You guys have been sniffing PFF's ass too much, you're starting to sound like the no nothing stir the pot media because they got nothing else to write.

You guys haven't figured out that PFF is scamming you. They know less about NFL football than most of the people on this board. Their fucking metric was made for soccer not NFL football.

I believe that was the case.

We should trade Kupp because this is his second injury. He's all washed up.

I would 100% trade him if we got offered anything. We only have him for this year then he will be a FA. Better to get another pick for a player that will be here in the future years.

At least until the Trade deadline.
Absolutely agree. VJ might actually have some real trade value at the deadline if he's playing relatively well to go to a team who is challenging at that time who NEEDS WR help. Since it looks like we will probably be players in free agency next year then the likelihood of receiving any draft compensation most likely won't happen.

Same. He seems like a great person but I want more dogs out there at wideout. Guys who are gonna battle. It's not a size thing, more an attitude thing that we need for that room. That and some more speed.

If the Rams are thinking wideout that addition better be that type of player. Otherwise just trade down a bit, go get a TE (there are some feisty fuckers among them) and start plugging holes.
