Movie thread: “Did you hear they’re making a Creed 3.” Response: “yeah, we really should have drafted Creed!”

Tutu is looking more and more like a draft whiff. It happens. We aren't the only team to make draft mistakes. Everyone does it.

Hubert Humphrey would have been a better pick than TuTu Atwell.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I actually agree with the point of your post.

I’ll act accordingly like how I want to act and participate with what im in interested in. You have zero say. Period. At this point IDGAF what you think.

Again if you don’t like it, don’t comment on it. It’s not rocket science. In todays word people feel obligated to respond if they are offended by something. (And if you do respond expect a potential different opinion on the matter) Once again hito, if you don’t like a topic or subject ignore it and don’t respond. Incredibly simple.
Ok, so you participate in what you want, but I should just but out, since I disagree with you. Got it. :thumbsup1:

Obviously Creed Humphrey would have been a better pick than Atwell. The big question is, "where would we be now if we had taken CH?" Would we be 6-1? If our current line was AJackson, Evans, Humphrey, Oboushi, Havenstein it would be better but would it be "stellar"? If we're talking about how we'd be in 2023, who knows if Bruss is going to be a stellar G but before we say...Humphrey & Bruss in the same sentence, had we taken CH, we probably don't take Bruss this year. And who knows, maybe we sign a UFA center next year like Garrett Bradbury?

On the perception we can't scout WRs well it deserves another look.....Kupp, Reynolds, Jefferson, Atwell, Harris and Skowronek. Outside of Atwell and Harris, what's there to complain about? And if we're being accurate, Harris was a college TE.

We have warts. But in the last 5 and a half years we've gone from the proverbial outhouse to the penthouse and despite our current woes, we're nowhere near that smelly hole in the ground.

Yes it's me saying someone should butt out since they disagree.:eyeroll:

You gaslight and and get offended when someone responds to your BS.

I didn't like the Tutu pick either, and was really hoping for a Center. I just don't feel the need to keep telling everybody, at every opportunity. It is in the past, and I have let it go.

I understanding not liking the pick, but continuing to cry about it, at every opportunity, 2 seasons later is a little much. Honestly, not trying to be a dick here, but what is the point of constantly bringing it up?

If you want to act like it is a running joke, then fine, whatever (Post #21 sure didn't sound like it is a running joke). It just get old and predictable. Believe me, if there is a 'We should have drafted Creed H. thread, I will stay out of it, LOL. Unfortunately, it makes it's way into a lot of threads.

WR isnt great either....

From last year we lost some great to solid starters... some big names also.

Woods
Whitworth
Vaughn Miller
Odell Beckham JR
D.Williams
Corbett

I just look at this team.. especially on the offensive side and see a lack of play makers.

People lament the offensive decline for good reason.. but back in the day we had Gurley, Higbee/Everett, Woods, Kupp, Cook and some others... our offensive personnel is so depleted.
Its not like we drafted Kupp or anything.

Creed Humphrey was the better pick over Tutu and it'll be talked about for a long time. Doesn't bother me one bit as I'm here to talk and read about the Rams. If a subject becomes to repetitive, I literally pay it no mind if I'm no longer interested in it. To each their own and I truly respect that.

Nothing more cringy than fans playing the "I called it" game. Those armchair GMs that want to remind everyone how amazing their prognostication skillz are when a pick they didn't like flames out. I'm sure there are 32 teams beating down your door to hire you,...... you stud muffin you!

The Rams aren't even in the top 5 for man games lost this season.. that surprised me.
But having so many injuries concentrated in the offensive line has really distorted everything, imo.
It makes every skill position on offense look significantly worse. I think the offense would've had some struggles this season, even if healthy.. but nothing like what we're seeing.

Are they actually bad at evaluating Edge players? Ebukam and Obo were chosen in the 4th and 5th rounds and contributed.. both players got second contracts in the NFL.. and Ebukam is thriving. Lewis was a third-round swing.. He's playing, but not doing much. He's on the roster, so it's hard to call him a true bust.
TE? Hopkins is a 4th rounder and is the backup. Sounds about right?
RB? Tough one.. they've absolutely missed out on better RBs.. but Henderson is still on the roster.. he has a career average of 4.4 yards per carry.. made big plays as a receiver in the Super Bowl.. not a wasted pick at all. Akers? Well.. the guy they drafted crushed it as a rookie. Health has played a huge role in how these guys have played out in the NFL.. but.. were they evaluated wrong? I can't say that at all.
Oline? I think the priority thing is something to discuss.. but, for what they've invested? Seems like they're doing well. Again.. massive number of injuries is clouding any evaluation. We have no idea what Bruss is.. Anchrum looked really solid at guard in preseason... Jackson was a fucking home run as a UDFA... Edwards has been a league-average.. lower end starter.. he was a 5th.

So, what are we really talking about?
Oh.. (Creed Humphrey).. that's what this thread really comes down to.

Agree.

If a team loses seven starters at seven different positions, that's brutal but that team would have its top reserve starting at seven different positions the next game. It would truly test a team's depth and how it was built. That would be an extreme Next-Man-Up Situation in my opinion.

The Rams were without four O-Line starters at one point; and, at that time, two of its three projected top OL-reserves were on Injured Reserve. Also, when Hill, Long and Durant all went down at around the same time, they were the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Cornerbacks playing on Defense.

Oh.. (Creed Humphrey).. that's what this thread really comes down to.

What if's aren't usually a subject I spend much time on, but it doesn't bother me to hear discussion on what a Creed Humphrey acquisition might have made for our OL. Forget Atwell for a moment, I think most here would agree that Creed is a step up from Brian Allen, so what becomes of Allen if he's bumped out of his starting Center role ? At Michigan St., Brian Allen played LG for only one game less than he played Center, so could he have bumped Edwards at LG while Edwards then moves into a lead swing OT/OG role ? The trickle down effect for drafting Humphrey could have had a very significant result for our OL depth as a whole. Beating a dead horse surely isn't going to get us anywhere, but we should also accept that fans sometimes have a pretty good grasp of what's going on, and team front office's aren't infallible. jmo.

If they had drafted Humphrey, and he took-over at Center last season, I doubt that would have re-signed Allen, who was a free agent.

And if Humphrey got injured... like multiple Rams olinemen.. it would've meant... what?

Nothing, really.

And that's the real discussion point, to me. We're not talking about the players the Rams did or didn't draft impacting the line right now.. we're talking about all the injuries.

I've said this before... we can second-guess as fans.. it's part of the deal.. but they have to get the right answer to ALL the questions... not just the ones we choose to call them out for.

A rash of injuries to an Oline is just very, very tough to overcome... and in this moment we're seeing a lot of people conflate evaluation with injury.

And the Humphrey thing really is a dead horse. This thread really comes down to that draft pick, more than anything else, which is why I pointed it out.

Could be, but we'll never know. Edwards is actually carrying a higher CAP rate than Allen this year, and he'll likely be lost to free agency following the season, we'll never discover whether his OT value might exceed his OG value. jmo.

I have made this exact point more than half-a-dozen times over the past 7-10 days, including above to you.

In my other response (to River), I was simply addressing his comment about Allen and Humphrey on the same roster.
