But..He was the great owner, I thought? The dream that Stan Kroenke crushed? lol....Dude is chasing the dime, just as Stan is..except that he is more loquacious* about it..

*first time in ROD history, this word was used:banana:
Come on man. Look at the post right above yours. Can't account for @Leuzer 's grasp for definitions but $10 words are a dime a dozen around here. :shades::snicker:

I've said before on here that I don't think a London franchise works. London is about 100 miles from me and I wouldn't be going unless the Rams were the opponent.

I have my doubts that, even if the stadium is filled regularly, it will feel like a true home crowd. More like what we see at Wembley every year. All sorts of jerseys and fans there to watch the NFL as opposed to specifically being there to see the London Jags or whatever they'd call themselves. I work with a guy who says he'll get a season ticket if it happens but he's a Bills fan and always will be.

Then there's the logistics of it. Does the team live and train on the east coast of the U.S. and then travel to London for home games? Is that really a home game if that much travel is required? I don't think so. If they live and train over here then that will put off a lot of players. Draftees won't have a choice but free agents will be put off.

Bad idea all round in my view.
What are income taxes like? That would likely factor into getting any kind of free agents.

but it offers a less expensive option for fans, TV stations, advertisers, cities and governments and will help in the erosion of the NFL's popularity.
But..... it's SOCCER. I can see it now... Greatest Show On Kit, Monsters of the Friendly, The Big Redcard Machine, The Fearsome Footies

The horror!

Never have an NFL team in London or any other country for that matter.
It doesn't even make sense at all from a travel standpoint. I've been to London, and I can say they don't give two shits about American football.

I know. It must have been lost. I edited Leuzer's post to include the word loquacious. Just tryin to insert a little more humor.

I'm embarrassed that I had to look this up. Anyone earning over £150k per year (which is about $230k) pays 45% in income tax. I thought it was only 40% (not that this kind of percentage is a concern for me personally (n)).

Plus they'd have to something called national insurance on top of that. Percentage wise, that contribution is smaller but would still impact on a player's decision making. No idea how all of this compares to the U.S.
