The loss today and the season is 100% on McVay and Snead. Anybody suggesting otherwise doesn't get it IMO.

We continually fail to address the CB position adequately.

We continually fail to address ST adequately.

No other excuses for falling short this season.
Agreed.

Hiring buddies to coach the defense doesn't work. He needs to change his philosophy on how they approach defense. ST coaching isnt any better. He needs to hire himself someone who can coach up young talent

McVay has got to move away from the bend but don't break defensive mindset.

I agree. It made sense back when we had Gurley and that insane offensive tempo and scoring, but in modern day NFL games are closer and every yard and point counts.

We don't have the right players to have a bend but don't break defensive scheme.......................they are breaking all of the time.

Special Teams needs a rockstar coach who can whip those guys into shape.

I'm not even that bummed as the Rams went farther than I expected. I don't hate the Seahawks, but I do the Patriots! Just guess who I will be cheering during the Super Bowl?

I don’t think Shula is anything special. They’ve assemble a solid front 4. While the dbacks they have are a bunch of Jags there’s nothing special about the scheme. Soft zone, rushes 4. Often shows blitz and drops back in to coverage
That’s mostly it.
The safety blitz they ran in the 4th q was the first time I recall seeing that all year

Special teams can fuck right the hell off.

DBs put some bulletin board material this week talking about Darnold and how they know what he's going to do... good job on that.

Sour taste, best offense we've had since probably GSOT and it's wasted. Hopefully Stafford comes back and we build up the secondary in offseason and get at least one burner at WR who can get on the field.

Feels like Landman's play dipped a little after he got paid. So yeah I'd definitely have ILB on the list for midround pick priorities.

We need a lot of defensive additions for competition on top of the holes that are obvious. That side of the ball's been the redheaded stepchild. Time to prioritize it.
Yup need a bunch of cb Forbes the only one under contract ….landman is not the good if he not getting turnovers … hopefully lake play like he did before injury…. And we need wr besides Luka and Tae the other 3 suck

Shula doesn't bother me. People forget 2 things and the most important is that every DC under McVay has played the same soft coverage. It's what he wants so we need to get used to it. The second is these DC's play with the players McVay gives them.

Rams have the lowest paid defense in the league..... you can only do so much with that group

I couldn’t help to think about that during these entire playoffs.

You have the GREATEST defensive player of all time extending an olive branch to you for workouts and film study, and you quit after one day because “it’s too hard”?

WTH kind of mentality is that? Lol you should be honored he would even offer you that in his retirement.

I’m sorry but a big part of the issues with the Rams defense if for sure Shula, but also these dudes are also all soft as hell personality wise. Puka and Stafford are the only players who are just all out dogs on the roster, it’s kind of sad.
I don't want to agree with you but I do think Verse getting outworked to that degree by a retired player probably should've been a bit of a wake up call.

I say as I'm sitting on my couch finishing my bowl of nachos and typing on an online forum.

We needed Tutu. Where was he??? That bomb to Mumphfield would have been a td.

Good point. I like Mumphield but he is not a speed receiver and McVay had been setting up that 1st down play action all game only to have the wrong personel on the field....

Just another example of the terrible day McVay had. Terrible playoffs actually.

No shit. How did this front office fail so miserably in Tutu's case. Shit, he had the easiest job all season long.
Reporter said he asked Mcvay a couple weeks ago and he said that they change the off offense half way through the year … and tutu didn’t take kupp spot puka did

Spend some money on a corner in free agency and draft a couple. You almost have to play bend but don't break with the talent on the back end. It's pretty ordinary.

Even so we still could have won. When your defense sucks you don’t give the ball back right before half. And the muffed punt also gave them 7. As bad as the defense was, still should have won. Plus offense couldn’t score when it counted.

All the wr outside of puka and tae are not good Whittington a good blocker but that’s it

I agreed with you and still agree. Shit always rolls downhill and it stops with mcvay. I still stand by my statement that mcvay needs to stop hiring buddies. Mcvay needs to grow as a coach because his philosophy just cost the rams a chance at another SB with a HOF QB who only has a year or two left in the tank.
