Curious to see Shanahan's development as an HC, I'll give him a slight edge over McVay as an offensive playcaller but McVay is lightyears ahead in terms of communication/leadership skills that resonate with players and coaching-alike. Real challenge for these two will be how they fare once their respective defensive coordinators depart
Yeah I think Sean is going to slide into being an actual head coach much more smoothly than Kyle will. And one thing that isn't normally discussed in the comparison is the overall staff quality.
The Rams staff is insanely good. Wade at DC is a luxury for not only McVay, but also for Jared and the offense. And the Rams also have the better special teams coaching as well. All three phases covered by this staff man, it's pretty sick.
