Stats will show Stafford with a monster game but he missed some wide open receivers downfield and his throws to Allen weren’t that great either. Catchable…yes, but not MVP caliber
You don't throw for over 400 and 3tds against the Seattle defense on the road and in the weather - without his league leading TD catcher- and have a "not MVP caliber" game.

Was it a beautiful exhibition of QB perfection? No. But that was never the bar for this game. Stafford wasn't at his best, but he was more than good enough to win this game with monster numbers in a brutal divisional road game with playoff implications on the line Vs a top 5 Defense and Offense.

I know we would have criticized it, but when they scored in OT, had the Rams gone for two and got it, they would have guaranteed themselves the division lead. A tie still keeps them in control of everything.

And if you play out the scenario of the Seahawks actually scoring on their drive, you would expect your D would be gassed and it would be tough to stop their 2 pt play.

JSN does fuck all for 3 quarters because of a great defensive plan. Then goes absolutely off in the 4th because the entire coaching staff believes we have the game in the bag. What a complete choke job. Don't even get me started on special teams - and I'd even give Mevis a pass for his miss.

This is an insane take. Stafford is by far and away the best QB in the NFL this year. He played out of his mind down his #2 receiver against a top 3 defense. Absolutely the MVP. I would bet my life on it.

@jrry32 that’s a fumble and when did it occur, last two minutes? Need to look up inadvertent whistle rules.
It was on a try, but I don't think it falls under that rule. Think of when players lateral the ball at the end of the game. They're allowed to pick it up and keep running.

End of the day, the result isn't changing. But I'm not sure how the refs can say with a serious face that it was continuous action when they blew the whistle, everybody stopped, and the dude casually walked over and picked up the ball. It's pure bad faith imo. Everybody thought the play was dead, and even the refs had whistled and signaled it dead.

Likely playoff scenario...

WC round at @TB
Divisional Round @SEA
NFCCG @GB.
That’s a very winnable path.

I think some of this “Stafford struggles in the elements” stuff is a little overblown. Some of his best games have come in the cold and rain. Ravens 2023, Jags 2025. He played well vs Philly in the snow. He played well tonight in rainy 40 degree weather with wind gusts.
