The first replay they played in real time with sound. The whistle WAS blown. Also.. only a fumbling player can advance a fumble on a 2 point try. Should be dead at the spot of the fumble
Unsure if the advancing rule you have cited is correct. Inadvertent whistle should have at worst been a replay of down.

I mean HF would have been huge. Now it’s hoping others lose to have a shot at it. Unless we playing on the road in Tampa or some other warm place our odds are not good.
But it isnt over. The rams do thrive with adversity. It still fucking pisses me off though

unfortunately, it does not matter if there was a whistle or a rule screw up.....they aren't going to change the result.......the NFL would never allow it and if it ever would change something they would have done it way back when the Saints got screwed.

Even if they end up as a WC, there is a reasonable chance the 3 WC teams win that first weekend as the Bears, Eagles, and Bucs are all vulnerable. So you never know. If that happens, and we are the 5th seed, we get a home game and possibly 2.

lol post game presser = -dumb fuck reporters only asking about the puka thing and hardly about the game.

What a bunch of click bait hacks.
Dude that was the closest I think McVay has ever come to exploding on those people. Every single question was about Puka. He was like “did yall see him out there tonight??!! he was a baller.” He bailed on that presser after like 2 min, he was really close to losing it.

I tend to give these reporters some grace but that was fucking insane.

We also have to quit giving them the ball at the 35 after kickoffs. If you can't find someone that can do both (kickoffs and FGs) on the roster than you need to spend a roster spot on it. Giving them an extra 5-10-15 yds on every kickoff is insane to me.
Did you not see the punt return? That is why we dont kick it in the field of play. Hell they should be kicking all punts out of bounds.

Reporters were absolute scumbags. McVay, impressively, kept it classy.

Unsure of that. That appeared to be the only missed call against the Saints. There were many against the Rams dependent upon how much you believe the play clock operator compared to the back judge.

Wow even 9er fans on reddit think Rams got effed, we will likely never have a TD called back, give up a punt return TD and have a 2pt gifted to opponent again this season.
Our losses have been a poorly scripted movie

The whistle blew for sure. I'm not sure if the backward pass rules are the same as the fumble rules. This is what it says under backwards pass:
Article 1. Backward Pass
A runner may throw a backward pass at any time (3-21-4). Players of either team may advance after catching a backward pass, or recovering a backward pass after it touches the ground. Any snap from center is a backward pass.

This is for fumbles:
Article 6. Fumble After Two-Minute Warning
If a fumble by either team occurs after the two- minute warning or during a Try:
The ball may be advanced by any opponent.
The player who fumbled is the only player of his team who is permitted to recover and advance the ball.
If the recovery or catch is by a teammate of the player who fumbled, the ball is dead, and the spot of the next snap is the spot of the fumble, or the spot of the recovery if the spot of the recovery is behind the spot of the fumble.

Big difference between a punt return and a kickoff. Not even close to the same thing but I understand your point. The special teams are so bad you have to kick it through the end zone.
