One thing I will agree with this poster on is our defense. While I think our defense is good, we haven't done much on defense against good offensive teams, Colts, 49ers (2 games) and Philly. While I know we had a chance of being 9-0 at this point of the season due to two boneheaded mistakes in our two losses. I have to say we still have some glaring holes on Defense in the backfield. I hope that the return of Witherspoon corrects that and the emergence of Forbes. Time will tell tho.
How many other teams have offenses better than the Colts, Eagles and Niners? We’ve already played most of the top RBs in the league

I have to think that the TV stations are smart enough to realize what a huge matchup this will be and we'll get some good National coverage on the tube.

I don't think a shooting match works well for the rams. While we score a bunch of points we don't typically score quickly they're usually sustained drives that take time off the clock. Seattle likes to be very aggressive hitting deep routes off the PA. If we shut down their running game it makes them one dimensional, take away JSN, and keep the big plays from happening we have a shot.

Our defense needs to come to play. Darnold isn't a running qb and has a tendency of taking his eyes off WRs when pressure is in his face. Hopefully he's still seeing ghost from last year's beat down.

Last thing is the rams Oline needs to be very prepared this week. Seattle likes to dial up exotic blitzes from all over the field. Its good week to be home because it'll be a lot easier for them to communicate where to slide protection because you can bet they're gonna want to get Stafford uncomfortable back there.
You are speaking "against" coming out early with a quick score and keeping our foot on the gas ?
I am all about scoring as much as we can and letting the chips fall where they may.
I like out odds when that happens.

My point was our defense didn't play great against those good teams.
Yeah I’m not arguing with you but there are only a handful of good offensive teams in the league.

I think as fans we scrutinize our teams without taking a step back and objectively comparing them with the rest of the league.

Those are the only teams that scored 20+ pts against us and none have scored more than 27. Remember, the Eagles scored 33 returning the block fg at the end of the game. Teams aren’t running against us, and even though the pass d is leaky at times, we aren’t letting up big pass plays.

Pass D isn’t elite but it’s not bad imo.

Not sure how you got that out of what he said but I guess I could be wrong.

I think he’s saying trading TDs all game. I’m sure no one would be against our offense scoring on the first drive and then continuing to score on our possessions. But our defense needs to prevent them from doing the same.

Although, I would say that we seem to come out on top when they’re full on shoot outs.

No im saying I hope we can slow them down. Nothing frustrates an offense more than being on the sideline

I think our defense is too good to get into any "shooting" match with teams. Get up early, take them out of their run game and pin our ears back and get after a easily rattled QB in our house.
I don't like tight games where one mistake gives us a loss, like vs Philly and SF.
Our new kicker does make me feel "a little" better though.

I think we all hope you’re right. And I think we match up better against the Shecocks than we do the whiners. If we hadn’t started that first whiner game so flat, we would have won going away.

If we start out the game with our defense playing well, I think we beat the Shecocks handily.

Yup, roll up the 2nd good team in a row we face.
The Rams look really good right now. As good as anybody in the NFL.
Stafford having so much fun is great to see. Hope having it make him want to play as long as he can.

Key to the game is rush and hit Darnold as much as possible. Let him feel it until he’ll get scattered feet and hesitant. Play the Gregg Williams style defense.

This is another reason for 12 and 13 personnel. It should counter their exotic blitzes. Block and run a route.

Seattle hasn't played very many tough teams. But neither have we. Watch the games. They look incredible and well coached. They are playing some great football right now. Kupp might be their WR4. That's insane depth. If Adams cannot go, I think we are in tough. I think this will be a hard matchup either way actually. I am still taking the Rams. Better coach. Better QB. Better defensive line. That's usually a recipe for a W, but time will tell, and Seattle is legit. Our d-line needs to show up. We got what felt like zero pressure vs. San Fran. If we can get to Darnold, I like our odds. If not, it could be trouble. Zero way our corners can handle their WRs otherwise.
