Looking at this game and Darnold you have to wonder. Kubiak has him playing well using the running game then throwing play action out of running sets. I think in this game Shula should play a deep umbrella coverage and prevent the chunk plays, make Darnold hold it and come off his first read. Wouldn't be surprised to see our Defense using Nickel against the hawks big sets. Let them run a bit but frustrate their play action game and hopefully get home for some sacks. Get a lead and force them into shotgun then slowly turn the screws as Darnold implodes again.

The keys to winning this game are two-fold, come out of the gate and punch them in the mouth with a quick score while keeping Stafford's foot on the gas and making them play catch up the whole game just like they did the 9ers. This will take their running game away from them while allowing the pass rush to pin their ears back and go after Donald.

I don't think a shooting match works well for the rams. While we score a bunch of points we don't typically score quickly they're usually sustained drives that take time off the clock. Seattle likes to be very aggressive hitting deep routes off the PA. If we shut down their running game it makes them one dimensional, take away JSN, and keep the big plays from happening we have a shot.

Our defense needs to come to play. Darnold isn't a running qb and has a tendency of taking his eyes off WRs when pressure is in his face. Hopefully he's still seeing ghost from last year's beat down.

Last thing is the rams Oline needs to be very prepared this week. Seattle likes to dial up exotic blitzes from all over the field. Its good week to be home because it'll be a lot easier for them to communicate where to slide protection because you can bet they're gonna want to get Stafford uncomfortable back there.

I would not assume so.

The Rams had an open spot on the Practice Squad; and, remember, there's a good chance that neither Higbee, nor Parkinson are with the Rams next season.
I originally read that as being signed off practice squad not to practice squad. Panic level decreasing.

ME: Beaten one good team, eh?? Well, that'd be TWO after this week!!!!

I don't think we know what the Rams are yet. They've beaten one good team, the Colts, but a lot of their victories have come against teams like the Titans, Jaguars, Texans, Saints and the Ravens without Lamar Jackson. And they've split with the very depleted 49ers team.

Their defense is for real--they've held opponents to 20 points or less in 5 of their games. But have they played against many good quarterbacks with a competent offense? When they played Jalen Hurts, the Eagles scored 33 points against them.

And I know Matthew Stafford is having a fantastic year, but it feels like a mirage. 37-year-old quarterbacks with a bad back don't have career years. Except for the Texans (against which they only scored 14 points), the Rams have played some pretty poor defenses--the Titans, the Ravens, the Saints. And even the 49ers and the Jaguars are in the bottom half in defense.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Rams are a good team. But just not as good as everyone thinks they are.

One thing I will agree with this poster on is our defense. While I think our defense is good, we haven't done much on defense against good offensive teams, Colts, 49ers (2 games) and Philly. While I know we had a chance of being 9-0 at this point of the season due to two boneheaded mistakes in our two losses. I have to say we still have some glaring holes on Defense in the backfield. I hope that the return of Witherspoon corrects that and the emergence of Forbes. Time will tell tho.

I mean, has he looked at the Seahawks schedule? By his logic (that Jaguars and Texans aren't good) the Seahawks haven't beaten any good teams. Commodes are more injured than Whiners and Steelers suck. Only other teams that could be considered good that they've beat is Jaguars and Texans... soooo, what's his point lol? They lost to Bucs and Whiners. Seahawks have only played a few good pass rush teams and Darnold did not perform well in those games.

Seahawks are a good team and any thing can happen in Division games but I feel pretty good about our chances.

ESPN analytics give the Rams a 60 percent chance to win over the Seahawks. Looking at the last 4 games the teams are pretty darn close. Both on a 4 game win streak. Seahawks scored 129 points. Rams scored 128 points. Team stats are pretty close. All that shapes up to be a close game. A close game favors us in my opinion. 4th quarter Stafford is clearly better than 4th quarter Darnold.

And who the hell have the Seahawks beaten?
