I noticed that too and I was surprised a veteran like Stafford would do that same with Evans on that incredible punt

Well that was an interesting game... lol... But I'll take it.

1. The defense played pretty good. The D is starting to get exposed on underneath routes.
2. Stafford played well enough.
3. I've said this over and over and over they need to find a place on the bench for Corrum to sit, he sucks. He reminds me of Akers, but slower.
4. TE's looked like they forgot how to block.
5. McVay went back into "Scatter Brain" mode like last season.
6. Adams and Nacua made some costly mistakes.
7.. I think the Christmas tree didn't provide good fortune, I told my wife I'm taking it back down for the next Rams game.

A lot of those complaints specific to the game yesterday were due to a well-coached, tough opponent, and not indicators of player regression.

Seattle isn't that good, we made them look better than what they really are.

Next time leave Corum home and maybe give Ferguson more snaps.

It wasn't an impressive game for the D-line stat-wise, but they did dial up more pressure in the 2nd half, and it led to turnovers and forced bad throws. The game plan was similar, except even more dime to what we try to do with the niners

Agreed that these teams are very close skill player to skill player comparison and Defenses are also close.

I think what we saw is a division game against the top WR in the league statistically, with a QB who has been making a lot of explosives in that system.
Shula called a game to keep the lid on and force them to execute for 60. It worked, it's not pretty to watch and maddening for a fan, but it is effective.

We have faced some backup QBs so I'll give you that. Although, it looks to me like Mac Jones runs that 49ers offense about as well as Purdy. We can take the two games against them off the list.

I'm not sure Seattle has faced better QBs and offenses than us. If you really wanna get that deep into the weeds that's fine. Looking at broad metrics is good enough for me.

On the pass rush, it was in full effect yesterday. Darnold did a good job avoiding about 3 sacks. But he was definitely hearing ghosts because the pass rush is what caused at least three of the INTs.

I'm not concerned by the seeming loss of pass rush because most of it is how Shula is calling the last few games. He's dialing back the aggressive pressure on purpose for strategic reasons. Last game against SF, he rushed three for much of the game.

Yesterday, he rushed four in a contained manner where they held the edge, played a ton of dime, but still got enough pressure to induce four picks.
 
If someone already mention this I apologize but it seems to me when the Rams play against good defenses McVay tends to slowdown the offense once they get a lead. If you go back several seasons you’ll see this. Now with that said, if the Rams are behind then they tend to open up the offense.
Yesterday the defense pretty much did what they wanted so McVay didn’t see the need to add anymore risk. I think the Rams throwing for the first down instead running clock showed a little desperation.
But what do I know, Rams won.

He usually is. But this one is just too easy. The NFL has completely fucked the kickoffs. Have the kicking team line up closer to the defense, whatever. But unfuck this rule.

Orange man is right, go back to the old kickoff rules. Let them smash into each other at high speed. 105 yard kickoffs runs used to be a thing. Remember Ron Brown anyone ?
And put the extra point back where it was while you are at it.
It should not be some iffy thing with a crosswind.
And while they are at that........... make it illegal to push teammates from behind.
And let the QBs throw it away in the pocket without getting a intentional grounding like they do. You want to protect QB ? Thats one way to do it.

I don't mind the kickoff rules as much. We're getting closer to the UFL rules that allow for kicks to be returned, and I'm good with that. I prefer that over players getting spinal cord injuries on the field - the Bills tight end, Kevin Everett, for just one example.

You can still get long kick and punt returns, but players getting spinal cord injuries or worse on kickoffs has always unsettled me.
