Holy shit Herbert is the worst at holding the ball too long and not getting rid of it.
Whenever I watch Herbert, I always wonder why he is talked about as a top tier qb. He has so many flaws, just like the one you mentioned. Having said that, he does have his share of nice throws.

Couple observations / opinions.

As I was watching the Texans' offense in the first half, I found myself thinking that their offense reminded me of the Rams' offense. Not in talent or production but in style, personnel usage and play-calling.

Then I remembered (I have a few moments of lucidity most days), that the Texans' Offensive Coordinator is Nick Caley, who was with McVay and the Rams in 2023 and 2024 (Pass Game Coordinator in '24).

I can see McVay's influence on Caley's offense.

The other observation (opinion) is that Rich Eisen is a terrible play-by-play guy. And I am a big Eisen fan.

I just think he misses too much stuff. I think he is not paying attention and is too much of a fan.
He failed to realize that the Texans' starting O-Line was nowhere near what the NFL Network posted to start the game.

He twice gave primary credit to Will Anderson, when it was another Texan who was the primary playmaker ...
a sack where Sheldon Rankins came free off a stunt; and a run stuff where Horton bull-rushed a blocker.
Both times, Eisen gave credit to Anderson who was in-on-the-plays but failed to even mention the players primarily responsible ... and there were replays! Those are examples of Eisen as a fan, touting a star player (Anderson) and ignoring what actually occurred on the play.

On the Chargers' 1st drive of the second half, Herbert scrambled on 3rd down and Gadesn dropped the pass. Eisen said Herbert could have run for the first down, when the replay showed he clearly could not.

All the above would be fine if Rich Eisen was calling the game on the radio but anyone watching the game, and paying attention, would recognize the stuff he is missing.

I see what you mean. Had Ladd wide open for a TD earlier but was hesitant. At least they scored the next play.
Edit: wtf is wrong with you Dicker.

Yeah he's good but IMO he holds himself back from being great.
