With all Saffold's injury history I wonder what he will get paid in 2022.

If he doesn't get any offers maybe a one-year very, very low salary the Rams could take a flyer on him. They could use his run blocking ability.

There's such a dearth of quality offensive linemen in the NFL. Despite his age (34 in June) and any durability concerns (he's only missed four games in the past six seasons), I have to believe Saffold will get good-$.

You don't get to write "dearth" a lot in a sentence.

I agree with you on almost all of your very good post above ......the point that starting OL'ers in the NFL would be at the bottom of all NFL units when discussing "Quality" is an area that has not been discussed much in the NFL. I do know that OL'ers are getting away with holding certain defensive players in the NFL...;)

The point on age is also not a concern for me all either, all I have to do is remind myself of the tender young age of OL'er Andrew Whitworth was when he arrived here in 2017. You hit the target there too. I would also agree that RS is sure to get very good offers $$$ from more than a dozen teams in the NFL too.

Where we see things differently, in I reviewing his health issues & be sure he has many, when I see he missed 28% of the offensive snaps in 2021 then the low missed games carries very little merit with me.

I also do recall the huge amount of gasps I had due to all the times I have seen RS #76 lying on the field after an offensive snap & him being assisted off the field to the sideline & then missing mega amount snaps for the Rams after he started the game during his time as a Ram.

RODGER SAFFOLDG, BUFFALO BILLS
Rodger Saffold

Bills signed LG Rodger Saffold, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract.

The deal features a void year in 2023 for cap purposes. Saffold was released by the Titans last week to save on cap space, but he was still playing at a solid level. He was ranked as a top-50 guard by Pro Football Focus and earned the first Pro Bowl nod of his career. He hasn't missed more than two games in a season since 2015. The Bills have frequently turned to affordable free agents to address their needs in the tranches in recent years. Though Saffold will be 34 years old by the time the 2022 season starts, he should still give the Bills a solid starter at guard while playing for a reasonable price.
