Ravens continue to build on his passing game knowledge, and it started under Roman to include his firing to make the offense more efficient in that regard. So the Ravens are trying to extend his shelf life. But every QB is different. So with Jackson it might be better to let his legs dictate and see how far he goes. Shit opens up when he scrambles around and he seems to get on a roll at times just from the contact.
But I don't watch a ton of their games. I'm just some fan of the Rams that thinks a guy like him is best served in that Greg Roman type usage where things are schemed up for him and you use his run threat aggressively. And with running QBs coming out every year why not have a backup or two ready to go in the same simplified approach.
My whole thing with him is that when you consider that you could execute that Greg Roman type approach then why pay the QB. Why not just keep a stable of 2-3 of those guys, like RBs, and cycle through them during a game. Schemed up throws and lots of runs and boots and play action. Then use all that FA money on OL instead, or explosive threat types and cornerstone position defenders. But I've gone on about this before and nobody does it so there must be inherent problems with it that prevent it.
