That's awesome Rhody. You will always run faster on race day just don't let yourself get to amped up at the beginning. Find your target pace and settle in.

Like @Goose said, you're right on track.
Those long runs arent supposed to be at race pace, typically the long run should be a minute (or two) slower. All things considered, you look to be on the money

Was supposed to do a 13 miler today but got washed out with all this rain. Fortunately, there's a half marathon tomorrow nearby and one of my running crew found me a number. Gonna try to not race as much as enjoy. Race runs around and thru the Princeton University campus.

Well lucky me I went out for a 5 mile run today and rolled my ankle 1/2 mile in. I am hoping it won't be to bad as I have rolled my ankle before but this one was in full stride so it's a bit different. I just hope I can get it enough rest for the tough mudder on Saturday.

Dieter,
Mudder was this past Saturday. I actually was able to get through it without injury. I had that sucker tapped, compression socks, and ankle brace. I was able to pull out an old pair of Hoka that had the extra padding I need to help absorb shock. Not the best shoes when doing a trail run but they worked out well. The biggest issue was all the holes that were on the trail. I am not sure how people didn't break an ankle. I got through all the obstacles and had a great time. I am sore right now but I am no worse for the wear. Now I need to rest up for my half this coming Sunday.

Yeah, rest up for sure. Back to back hard efforts take their toll.
I should have taken that advice myself and am now paying for it

They are between 10-12 miles plus 12-15 obstacles. The really upped their game on the obstacles. I think somebody over there watches ninja warrior because some of those things were similar. Still every time I run it I am 7 years old play fort with my buddies in the creek behind my house. I wasn't planning on running on this schedule but it was just the way the races fell. Last year I went to KC to do the TM for the same reason but I couldn't space it out this year. Still if you haven't done one before I would recommend it. It is not timed and no prize money. Everyone really works together and it is just about having fun.

I think that the TM really help me loosen my ankle up. I am going to run a 3 miler today to see how it goes. I know that I am not going to set any records on Sunday but I am just going to take it slow and really try and enjoy the run which I haven't always done.
