Is my memory playing tricks or does anybody else remember when it was leaked that our own HC fisher was going to receive an extension, or something like that? It seemed ridiculous at the time, right? The FO decided to let the season play out while a decision was made and…the rest is history.

Just saying.
I'm pretty sure we gave him an extension then fired him anyway, but it's early and my memory definitely isn't what it used to be.

Yes, they gave him a 1 year extension. Rams fans everywhere blew a gasket. We all thought he was hired to look after the team until they settled into LA. Another year we wasn't in our plans.

Luckily it wasn't in the Rams plans either. The $7m was just a thank you parting gift.

That fully guaranteed contract the idiots in Cleveland donated has probably broken the mold for QB contracts going forward.

All QBs signing a big time deal now are going to demand fully guaranteed contracts.

If Creeper Watson can get one... ALL QBs can get one too.

I’m no fan of Murray. But anyone saying Tua is better than Murray is coo-coo. We love to crap on Murray but the dude has been mostly very good. Tua sucks. Tua is still young - so he’s got time to figure it out. But so far - total bust.

Agree, and very curious to see how things play out over the next eighteen months.

First with QBs like Murray and Lamar Jackson, who have issues/questions (Jackson’s being durability and sustainability); and next with QBs like Burrow and Herbert, who are a good 2022 away from being up for extensions with no issues or question marks.

Agents will ask (demand) fully guaranteed deals but will team owners give-in? Owners like the Bengals’ Brown and Chargers’ Spanos might not, yet they have the two current “Golden Boys”.

Watson was a unique situation. Aside from the mess he was in, Watson was a major QB talent, young, wanted a trade, Houston wanted to trade him and he had a full no-trade-clause.

Should be very interesting to observe how things play out.

I think Murray with top weapons can be good enough at QB. He will always miss some of the downfield layups due to his size and inability to see things, but with a good gameplanner that keeps him in a moving pocket with talent around him it should work. If he was too tentative to make the throws I'd feel differently about him. His issue is definitely the size vs the linemen in front of him and that would also affect my willingness to pay him top dollar. Also he needs to be running for plus yards and sliding and all that to be maximized but I think it's doable.

Tua on the other hand just hasn't shown enough. Even if the Dolphins manage to build a SF east type team with a good defense and run game he is still going to run into a ceiling with Tua most likely, just based on what we have not seen from him thus far. They drafted Thompson late, but will probably be drafting QB again next offseason.

I honestly feel this year Tua is the year he has a good year tbh. He’s decision making is delayed and thinking the help they gave him this last offseason will make up some of that gap for him.

Yeah I’m with the Tua is a bust crowd. Murray’s issues are
1. Lack of maturity, leadership
2. Lack of size

Can’t wait for these fully guaranteed contracts to slap the Browns and Cards in the face like a pimp who wasn’t paid his cut.

I actually feel bad for the Browns, or at least their fans. But as for the Cards, who are a division rival? Yeah, fuck them.

Quoting myself, I do feel like Murray could be pretty good if he got #1 fixed.
Is #1 fixable?

What happens when the pressure is on? Answer…We see the real person… and that’s what happened on the sideline in the loss to the Rams when he refused to go back in.

Stafford would NEVER do something like that.

Maturity can still happen, he’s a kid.

Leadership? Prob not. Maybe when he grows up he’ll become a better leader. Idk. Cardinals can’t wait for that to happen

He’s also not going to get any taller, lol.

Lol this is great. 230 million and a no-trade clause for a QB that hasn't done anything worth a fiddler fack. I say give it to him and watch AD feast.
