Even after they cut him, his cap hit next year will be $5 million. Tom Condon is a heck of an agent.
And I’m not sure why Bradford keeps playing if that’s the case. He has the money and I just can’t see a team signing him as a starter again unless Rosen sucks and Sam catches fire - which I also don’t see happening. Does he milk a back up role? Maybe. But it just seems like time for him to explore life after football - maybe become a pro golfer.

I wouldn't be shocked if AZ cuts him after this year, and I wouldn't be surprised if they keep him. If a serious injury happens in next years OTA's or camp or preseason someone might give up a 3rd for him as a stopgap until the injured starter is back.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers call AZ and inquire.

I would be shocked if he's not cut. Besides the $5 million prorated signing bonus, he has a nonguaranteed total of $20 million due. No chance that he gets that, unless he is starring as a starting QB. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/sam-bradford-6510/

He got 15MIL at signing and a salary of 5MIL so that's all they save.

It's confusing because the text says he signed a 1 year deal, but they have 2 years with of numbers.

Wait, now I get it.

Yeah he's probably gone. That contract and being benched after 3 terrible starts means he's a goner almost certainly.

Sam's goner. in a QB starved league he can get another job. I don't think teams will pay more than a average backup salary. The Cardinals are a hot mess. I want to see how Rosen stands up. He is a gamer but, a little slight of build.

Seriously, it wouldn't play well for the Rams to sign Bradford as a backup. At the same time he has to be a big improvement over Mannion. i doubt McVay would want him though.

So now can we finally call Bradford a bust?

Yeah I'd say so. Talented and not a bad dude, but certainly nowhere near what is expected of a high QB draft pick let alone the one overall pick. No way you can feel like you hit on the pick. For the Rams he was a bust when they moved him, basically, in that they didn't get what they invested.

I hate Same Bradford with an unhealthy passion. The dude is a thief, and should be jailed for the amount of money he has stolen from teams. Its crazy.

He's a good fit for Dallas though.

Samuel Bradford is a big reason why, along with McCoy.

McCoy is still there. And while Sammy hasn’t been good - I wouldn’t be ready to call him the problem any more than I’d cast blame on DJ for the running game.

Either way, Rosen is not being put in a very good position here.

Yup, he's the richest underachiever in NFL history.

IMO, Both he and Goff are similar in that they both can achieve with a clean pocket w/ an excellent LT. But I continue to believe neither are the type of play makers able to carry the team when necessary i.e., Rogers, Brees, Luck, Wilson, possibly Wentz, etc. Although to be fair, it's not yet clear just how high Goff's ceiling will become, but the eye test just isn't there at the moment.
I know guys have already commented, but would you walk this back at all after Sunday? Goff was lightening. Goff probably made 20 throws Sunday alone, that Bradford couldn’t match with ten his whole career.
did he seriously compare jared goff to sam bradford? freak me.

what the freak is he watching?

.
Not Jared.

I think this is a mistake. The entire Az offense has been dreadful - I’m not sure I’d want to throw the rook in there right now.
Good point. Rosen May get his trial by fire. But it could make...or break him.

We agree on this and Jerruh being a rich bozo.

Nah, they don't need him, Prescott is fucking it up enough now all on his own.

Someone that far dug in won't ever do that.

That’s why I added:
along with McCoy.
That’s like me blaming Gurley for his massive struggle in 2016 & not the real culprits in Jeff Fisher & Boras.

DJ is being strapped down by his OC. He doesn’t deserve blame. Trash ass McCoy does. You & other Rams fans should be the first to know what that feels like.

We do - and I think you are getting me wrong here. I’m saying changing QBs isn’t the answer here - it’s the coordinator that needs a kick to the curb. I worry that putting in Rosen in the middle of this is going to crush him - better to let him sit and watch Sam get killed.

How long is his contract? Seems like folly to sign the man of glass beyond a one year deal in his current state. Good agent indeed.

Two year contract. $10 million signing bonus, hence the $5 million cap hit next year when he's cut. For some ridiculous reason next year he is scheduled for a combined $20 million in salary and roster bonus, which is why when he signed it was unlikely for him not to be cut, and when he wasn't playing at a star level it became certain he would be cut.

Boy do we. I feel your pain my man. I have to be concerned for Rosen though I’m not sure I actually like the guy. He seems too Ryan Leif to me.

I don’t dislike your team. I had disdain for your previous coach even though I think he was a pretty good coach. But I just thought he was a bit of a pant load.

I just really hope for you that Rosen is a great pick up. I love great competition and want our division to be a power. A cake walk to the division title is only good if you’re a patsies fan after all. :sneaky:
