Ehh.He has far exceeded expectations for a 5th round pick. Winning primary backup responsibilities and handling himself vs other teams' starters and primary backups at different line positions to include LT is kind of a big deal.
This dude is going to go down as a fine pick and part of the reason this year's draft ends up being ranked as one of our best. I have very, very high expectations for this group personally.
I get where you're coming from. But most 5th rounders are just trying to make the team tbh. This dude is a lot more than that imo.Ehh.
He didn’t stand out to me.
Winning the primary backup role was sort of by default.
He did improve as the preseason went along, which is really the key thing.
Pass blocking seemed solid.
The real test of the McSnead approach to building the team this way starts on Sunday with how the young o lineman perform.
A stark lack of competition as well in preseason.I get where you're coming from. But most 5th rounders are just trying to make the team tbh. This dude is a lot more than that imo.
Yeah I think Kromer has been doing what you suggest, he's had Evans on the right side since the first game where he struggled when flipping back and forth. I suspect that will speed along his learning curve, knowing his feet & technique on that side at least.Kromer got lucky with Edwards & unlucky {thus far} with Demby & Evans thus far.
David Edwards {DE} gives Kromer some serious relief on that left side as this regular season begins. DE can be the swing OT & Back Up LG on game day. If Whitworth was a no go then Noteboom would slide a few feet left to LG & DE would fit good @ LG or Kromer could just go with DE @ LT.
Kromer, however gets no relief @ the right side. I would have both Jamil Demby & Rookie Bobby Evans concentrate totally on the RIGHT OG post! DE can handle the rest of the three posts. This is the most worrisome issue of all concerns on this young OL.
