We win and we play Detroit in the WC round (in most conceivable Wk 18 scenarios).

We lose and we play Dallas or Philly (in most conc38vable wk 18 scenarios).

I think we want to play in Detroit. Do we want it enought to risk starters?

Without jumping into the debate too far, let's just ponder something.

We were supposed to suck this year. We gutted our D in the offseason and unloaded a shitload of cap (eating a bunch of it as well). We were supposed to be rebuilding, we were supposed to only win 3-5 games.

Yet here we are, on the last day of December, coming off of our 9th win, with a guaranteed winning season, and we're talking about whether we should rest our starters for the playoff berth that we have now clinched.

No matter what happens from, this season is a rousing success.

Get Puka the rookie record, then rest he and Stafford.
Hrm. I wouldn't let Stafford even dress. Puka I suppose give him the option because that's a record. But it would be Prince Harry throwing to Robinson, Skow and Allen if I had my druthers.

I bet $100 that Stafford would throw for 4k....he better play next week.

In 2018, we rested starters against the 49ers and they went all out in that win. We haven’t beaten them in the regular season since. McVay was pissed - didn’t he say he would never do that again vs Kyle?

Fuck resting starters. End the streak.

And would win $700....so give him a half or so.

In all seriousness....McVay said he would never rest against Shanahan again. We'll see if that holds up

Play everyone then and hope we draw Detroit, IMO, subject to key starts that might already be nursing injuries (Kupp?).

I am not so sure the Lions are any easier to beat than a reeling Philly squad or a flawed Cowboys team. But:

(1) I think the Rams matchup best against the Lions, just in terms of roster construction;

(2) HOW GOOD WOULD THE STORY LINE BE?! Goff vs. McVay that dumped him. Stafford finally playing playoff football in Detroit... but not for the Lions. Endless stories to run with.

(3) If we have to lose, it hurts a lot less seeing Goff, Reynolds, and co. move on at the Rams expense, and seeing long suffering Lions fans taste some success, rather than losing to the stinking Cowboys or arrogant Nick Siriani.

I also think getting to 10 wins is a milestone that would do this team good.

But be prepared to pull starters out if the game gets out of hand.

It was 2017 season (actually six years ago today), and yep he said he would never do it again. Shanahan seemed to indicate that they will rest some guys though so we'll see.

The Rams fan in me thinks the Rams should play starters at least one half.

The best ball fantasy football team owner in me hopes they play the entire game.

I get resting, but I honestly like our chances in Detroit way more than in Dallas.
However, if SF rests their starters, IDK.. lol

This. ^^^

I really want Puka to get that record. Otherwise, I want to see all the starters play and if we get a big lead and Puka gets his yards, I'm fine with resting most of our starters. But I think our young players need to get a feel for playoff football and this will be as close as they can get before the playoffs begin.

Play them all including AD and Staff. Staff needs to get that stink off this game today and needs to be the one to get Puka his yards.
If we have the lead at half and Puka has his yards, sit them all. The game doesn't really matter that much - though I'd really like to end the regular season with a win against those shit stains.

It would be great to see our backups beat the Whiners.

Rest Kupp and Donald for sure, and hopefully Stafford.

I don't see playing Stafford for a quarter or a half if you won't play him all game.

It's not like he's never played in the playoffs before.
