Let's just hope we get to debate this in real time with a big lead in the 3d or 4th quarter. The big question is at what point does McVay take it easy on the Raiders if they get a big lead?
I was thinking 4 scores midway through the final period. A 24 point lead. Say the score is 34-10 (my final prediction) at 7:30 mark 4th quarter. Rams start running the ball with backups in.
Whatevs pops.First off - always respect your elders (especially if they're 70 or older),
and second, I hope we have to make that decision.
Thanks for posting this PT.
But those Grudens still make my skin crawl. :headexplosion:
Jon and Jay seem to be okay as people. They're mediocre coaches though. Jon has a .540 percentage and Jay a .445 percentage as head coaches. Combined they're worse than Jeff Fisher. Chuckie is all style and little substance. He's good for the NFL for now though because he stirs up interest. That will change once the losing continues. Jay is boring just like his team the Redskins.
I was thinking actions speak louder than words. If McVay goes easy on him players will notice. Especially if he goes easy on him when players think he shouldn't. Leadership is a tenuous thing and a leader's personal feelings should never get in the way of what's best for the organization.Well, not thinking anything that extreme... not that I think those words would ever come out of McVay's mouth.
But, there are other ways to slow things down.. like a more conservative play calling scheme. Maybe bring in Fisher to handles those duties.![]()
Just because your paid millions of dollars doesn’t mean that person is devoid of emotion all of a sudden. As tons of evidence proves, being a professional or a millionaire has nothing to do with emotion.Well, let's say Rams are up 40-10 midway through 4th qtr. Isn't that in and of itself embarrassing? Is 47-10 that much worse for a final score.
These guys are paid millions of dollars to coach and win football games. They should be above the fray of a tough loss...
@Ramrasta and I are very familiar with the Grudens. Especially Jay. I doubt we hear from T since he's being forced to deal with his girlfriend these days.
I'm gonna agree with you ALL THE WAY with your descriptions.
Seems like it was Sean's Family that brought the Grudens into the league though...... not the other way around. That's the history I'm going with.
I like that part.
Yah, Yah...that's what she said!!!Just because your paid millions of dollars doesn’t mean that person is devoid of emotion all of a sudden. As tons of evidence proves, being a professional or a millionaire has nothing to do with emotion.
Earth is for the young, McVay should give no quarter. The only time I want to see us relax more on offense is when we pull the starters because the lead is so large.
