Oh NO you dint!

Yeah, I said it! Now hear me out, please. Before everything that happened this off-season, it would have been a joke for me to consider this (Go ahead and laugh, LACHAMP46!:yess:).

I've been disturbed by how bad Sean Mannion looked in the last game last year. He didn't even look like a NFL back up in the frisco game. Manziel has skills and mobility. I think if he received the same training as Sean Mannion, he could do incredibly better. I have no confidence that Mannion will not only not win a game, but would be factor iin future losses should he take over for Goff in any instance. It seems that Johnny has matured, and I am just talking of him in a back-up role.Make it a veteran minimum deal, because we have the worst back up in the NFL, imo.
So he can party with OBJ? You must be kidding.

Both guys are way more talented than Mannion. At the same time I can already hear the hot take articles demanding that Manziel/Kaep start if Goff has a game that is anything short of spectacular.

H.ell no, are you crazy? I was thinking how cool it would be to see Sean McVay and Johnny getting caught at 3am on a Sat morning at a Vegas party by TMZ....

The supposition is that he's clean now and has been for a while. If so, he is a better QB than Mannion, with the same training. Like jrry32 said, we are totally screwed if Mannion is the Goff replacement.[/COLOR]

That's no longer an issue. Goff is now a team leader and coming off a year where he put up numbers quite similar to Brady's. We may get a hot take article, but there's no reason to worry about any real controversy in the locker-room. Goff is the guy, and he's not going anywhere. Now, after last year, it's possible Kaepernick could have caused some strife (not that it would have been his fault), but Goff has proven himself now.

Manziel is trash. Typical successful college qb that wont hack it in the pros. I don't care how many Hiesmans the guy won, he has never been anything special as a passer. May as well go see what Tebow is up to.

Lotta love out there for a guy who couldn't even make it into his 3rd season in the NFL. His last game would have been nearly 3 years ago if some team is gullible enough to give him a shot. He was never strong on the mental side of the game and that is arguably the best quality you want to see in a backup.

c'mon Coach, give a guy a chance!. What did you think of the dumpster fire that was Sean Mannion in frisco last year?

You want to judge Mannion on just 1 game? The only game of the year he received reps with the 1st team..... and then half of the starters were rested? And, against a division rival who were playing to win a game that the Rams weren't? I'm not a big Mannion fan, but no, I'm not judging him on that game only.

If we are talking fantasy scenarios I hear this guys available.

I judge him as a back up who has been in that role for years, who had a full week of training during that week. It wasn’t like he had to step in unexpectedly, and he was horrid.

Don’t tempt me sir, he’s better than Mannion. At least he stepped in and guided the Broncos to the playoffs. We need our back up to be good enough to at least manage the game(s) until the starter is ready
