But neither team was capable of "putting the game away" which makes the cheating officials so decisive.

We obviously were as we had the opportunities but didn't capitalize. We had two takeaways that resulted in a grand total of 3 points. Defense gets a stop in OT then Baker floats a bomb to Jefferson that would've been a walk in TD and win, but was intercepted and turned out to be the game losing play. Our defense seemingly couldn't tackle outside of 3rd and long. There's too many examples of this team shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly in this game to put this loss solely on the officiating.

And if the refs don't officiate like dogshit, we get the ball back on that 4th and 3, and who knows what happens then.
We probably wouldnt have done shit because we couldnt sustain drives nearly all game.

If Baker doesn't float that ball, we win with a walk off TD. Missed opportunities. Yawn.

To counter your examples of hyper personal responsibility, I would say that with all of the Rams mistakes, Seattle still couldn't win without SEVERAL blown calls by the officials. They were the difference in this game.

This game should not be on any of these officials resumes. The real reason we lost are the three passes Baker threw behind Jeff.

Second we're on our fourth string LT and third string guard and centers.

The officiating surely didn't help us. The runner was pushed into the kicker, that's not a foul. At this level, officials should not be ball watching and making assumptions. I saw several plays where our dline was straight up tackled without a flag. Other times, blatant holds occurred that went for sizable gains. These officials should be sent home to go fish and think about how this game stopped them from being assigned playoff games.

It’s not my modus operandi to condone blaming the refs for wins and losses but I’m pretty okay with this thread title.

I like how the NFL officials booth guy just gave up trying to explain the calls towards the end. Hilarious.

Yes Yes Yes.

NFL has to figure out a way to have obviously bad calls overturned.

The Refs did screw us over. But our high end back up quarterback has shown us why in the end he is a backup.
He had the game won, make the right throw and the game is over. It was a sickening int.
Kind of a semi pop gun arm, not tall enough. He can win some games with the right stuff around him, but he HAS to have it.
Not enough talent to take a game over.
It would of been wonderful to take the Seahags out of the playoffs and give Goff a shot at the same time.
This game I am watching right now would have been better with more on the line.
Two of my favorite non Rams quarterbacks.
Goff is a good dude who has not done anything bad to us. Rodgers is as smart as they come and has proven himself to be just that IMO.

Even the Lions have a quick hitting 3rd and short play where the ball is out in under 2 seconds. Why do we not have that as well, Sean?

My wife and I were saying how in heck do you run into the kicker with your back turned to the kicker?

It was such a blatant push.

I have a friend at work who truly believes that some games are fixed from time to time.

This could be one of them where the league wanted Seattle in the playoffs.

I have never seen so many blatant bad calls against the Rams except the Pittsburgh game that Momento mentioned and I stopped watching that game after the first half because those calls were even worse than this game.

This is kind of scary.

This is a post I could have written word for word.

Are you my long lost twin brother? (Or sister. These days are confusing to us old fucks)

Don’t know about most but bakers exit interview just made me want him to remain a ram. This experience has changed him when he speak he is smiling humbled and looks like despite the losing it reminded him about football being fun again. He just doesn’t look or act like that self entitled smug punk that I myself never liked. No matter where he ends up this experience seems like a fork in the road for him in he on the right path. Thank you baker. I couldn’t imagine watching the last few games without him in such a horrible season.

Sean Mcvay was PISSED!! He doesn’t complain much. He just likes an honest answer & what the thought process is.

Towards the end of the game Geno attentionally grounds the ball in bought ways (?) if nothing else he did not come close to getting outside the pocket. He ran on the field asking why it wasn’t called or showing no receiver in the area.
—The right after that Geno runs out of bounds & he spikes the ball hard on The Rams sideline in front of Mcvay. He was like how is that not unsportsmanlike? The ball goes the other way it hits someone.

Just never seen him that frustrated

Sitting here on a beach down under in my Rams cap … and a guy walks past in his Seahawks cap and smirks at me … what are the odds? #hatethef**kingseadorks

Mayfield had a pretty terrible game in a great effort to stay on the team :)

Personally, I was hoping we would get a compensatory 3rd round pick for him. Now, I am not so sure we will

Said it before and I'll say it again. Make it mandatory the refs answer questions just like the players and coaches have to after a game. I guarantee you they will try a helluva lot harder to get it right. They have zero accountability.

Every ref of this game should be fired and have to pay back their entire salary for this season. Might have been the worst I have seen in my 56 years.
I call recency bias. There have been many as bad or worse. How about the NFCC in New Orleans. They let so many penalties go they forgot to throw the flag on that PI.

Oh and how can you forget the SB last year. The only reason the Cincy was in the game was because of a no call PI and all the holding and illegal contact they allowed in the Cincy Defensive backfield. I think we could go on and on.

This is the NFL plan. Have so many obvious calls missed and call so many imaginary penalties that when they really want to make an outcome happen it looks like the rest of the fuck ups.

Refs aren't a factor if the offense doesn't play like absolute dogshit.
You make a true statement, but our offense is shit so the refs fucked us out of a win. This really isn't about the shitty offense. It is about the shitty refs.
