I was just watching the Byron Young Mic'd Up segment from the Raiders' game.

After Curl's fumble recovery and return for a score, the Rams were celebrating in the end-zone; and did the silly Rowing celebration. Reeder recognized the celebration and rushed to join in. Unfortunately, he was LATE ... and just as he sat down, every one was getting up ... and by the time he began his first Rowing motion, everyone was up and the celebration was over.

It was perfect Troy Reeder. He knew what to do ... just could NOT get in position fast enough to do it!

I am not so sure the green dot matters as much as some think, in that I am sure several players are coached up to be able to do it. It's the NFL. Injuries happen. Particularly to high impact positions like LBer. You think if Reeder got injured in-game, there would be no backup plans in place? I am sure whoever was 2nd in line for the green dot will get it now. We'll see how it goes. I don't mean to under-sell Reeder. I am sure it is not easy to call the defense. But I'm also curious how others might look if given the chance. I don't think Reeder was any special cerebrally.

Yeah the Rams reasoning has always been "he knows the system." I'd much rather see someone better learn the system

However, we still have Rozeboom in which will hurt the team.

Neither Reeder nor Rozeboom should be starting, but the absence of the former sadly means that more responsibility is going to be handed to the latter.

And that is not going to be a pretty sight.

The supposed reason that Speights isn’t starting is that he still isn’t up to speed on NFL offenses and how to defend them. The preseason is a lot different than the regular season.

But, I’m happy to find out if he can handle it. Because it doesn’t get much worse than Boom and Reeder, or should I call them Boom and Gloom?

I think the Defense goes with more of a five man line in nickel with probably Rozeboom as the off linebacker. If the D goes base then I expect to see Lake as the other Linebacker. In Dime they'll use Hoecht as the middle backer.

I'm as intrigued to see Speights as anyone, trust me. Just worried about communication breakdowns, that's all.

Would also like to see Brennan Jackson get more snaps. I got a feeling about that kid.

Oh wow, Reeder is INJURED injured and not just mild. This might be the end of him for season depending on how IR return spots work out rest of season. @mods might want to change title to "put on IR".
