How the Pat's do things is criminal. (No blue font.) That's how they make "no name" players look good year in & year out -- they cheat. It's easy to make a "no name" DB look All-Pro when he knows exactly what the offense is about to play.
It's my understanding that Kraft also got Brady to make "team friendly" deals by giving him under-the-table developments / investments. Why TB12, as the GOAT QB, is not making insane $$$ & capping out his team is not for a legacy, but he's got other arrangements with Kraft. Guys, if you want our team to do things like the Patriots, then I'm out. I'll get another team or just stop watching NFL.

I like how we do things. I liked the Suh deal, and the MP deal (at the time), and even like the Goff & Gurley & Woods & AD deals, I just don't like the Cooks deal. We really need a WR1, but with his contract & 1st round pick loss, it's going to be hard to go after another one until 2021.
Aside from the cheating aspects, I dont know anything the investment/development rumor, but players can make a shit ton more money off endorsements and being in a larger market like LA. That's one of the reasons alot of people have wanted to come here. AD has 100% deserved his contract. Higbee or Cooks....not so much. Higbee may pan out but Cooks was signed a large 5 year contract after being in LA a week. Goff...I like Goff alot, but hes no Rodgers, Brees or Wilson.

As for needing a wr1, Woods is our number 1. Hes by far our best receiver. I never liked the Suh pick up, always thought he was a selfish ass and he proved that by only showing up in the playoffs. I did like the Peter's pick up but he didnt fit our scheme unfortunately.

I'd am not challenging this claim but I am interested in any details about arrangements between Kraft and TB. Please elaborate if possible.

From what I understand, Kraft owns a strip mall right next to the stadium, and Brady owns a sports store within that mall. Obviously the store sells billions of high-priced sports/Patriots paraphernalia and Brady is the big winner. That is (supposedly) why Brady accepts less money, and that is how Kraft "allows" Brady to make much more than his salary.

I don’t see us trading a receiver, but if we do I have to think that Cooks would go before Woods or Kupp
The only way the Rams can trade Cooks is if the Rams give up a premium pick with him so a team could absorb that salary. Not seeing how that would benefit.
I think they have to tag Fowler at this point and agree that he could be used for trade purposes. So he would have to be tagged as a non exclusive

Lol that doesn't seem like a good deal considering Tom Brady could open up a store anywhere in Massachusetts and make big ass bucks off his name alone and still be the highest paid qb in the league.

Robert Woods is our best trade chip. I'd hate to see Robert go, but he's signed at a discount through 2021 and is expendable with Kupp, Cooks, Reynolds, and greater use of 12 personnel. However, I'm not sure I'd trade him. It's a tough call. I think we could get at least a third from a team like Oakland. Nobody is going to want to trade for Cooks' contract.
I fear he might start clamoring for more money too btw. There have been comments and he expects the Rams to do the right thing but not sure the current situation will allow for it.

That whole thing might come to a head and help that decision along.

I would much rather let Reynolds go than Woods. It's not even a close decision, imo.

Well the discussion is in regards to recouping some draft picks. Woods would likely bring back a 3rd rounder. Reynolds? Conditional 5th rounder is probably best case.

Yea I realized that after I posted. I got off track in that regard. Woods is much more important to this offense than a 3rd. I'd say Reynolds is more important than a 5th as well.

The biggest issue is Brady's quack and business partner Guerrero (co-owner with Brady of a company called TB12, a rehab company - he really is a quack, he was sanctioned by the FTC for marketing a "supplement" that he claimed had amazing properties) - anyway, that Guerrero and TB12 had an office in the stadium, and for a long time after he became controversial many Patriots players felt that they needed to use the services of TB12 - again, with the seeming endorsement of the team, with the money going to Brady. Guerrero even was allowed on the team plane for years, and players could go to get "treatment" in the stadium. It's not clear how much money Brady made from the relationship, but it was undoubtedly substantial - and did not count against the cap.

The o-line is new and it's young but I for one have seen enough to know that there is real promise in these guys. The problem was the residual vets, in Blythe, Havenstein, and Whitworth. Last Sunday it was mostly Whitworth and Blythe struggling more than the new guys. Do you think rookies next year on the o-line will play better than the guys we got already? No way.

Edwards will probably move to RT and Evans to RG, with Blythe leaving and Allen returning. Noteboom will replace Whitworth and Corbett probably stays at LG. IMO the only question on the o-line is what they do with Havenstein. Rob will have a cap number of $7.5M which is a lot for a backup. But he carries a $6.1M deadcap number so they must carry him one more year probably as the swing but Shelton and Brewer will probably have the game day swing covered. $7.5 M is too much to have sitting on the bench. So the only place for him would be to play at OG for a year, probably at RG to allow Evans or Edwards to continue to develop. Then Evans and Shelton can be the game day swings.

There simply are no glaring holes in the starting lineup to think they need higher draft picks. More to the point, Snead is very good at moving around on draft day by trading picks without trading players. They are only missing 1st and 5th round picks with probably a second 3rd round pick coming as compensatory. With what they have and packaging NRC that's all Snead needs. Like I said this draft is more about depth not finding starters.
I am very interested in Edwards at guard....surprisingly, he has some trouble pass blocking,d espite very good athleticsm....technique (plays high?). I thnk that will be solved. Evans, too, has some huge technique problems, but at guard he will be very, very good....maybe in the Saffold range in 4-5 years.

Rob Hav will start next year. His physical skills (which never inlcuded great feet) didn't drop off the table--he will return to 2018 form....he is only 28 or so. He never was quickt.....he will get it 'back'...I am sure. We need some stability anyways. Too many newbies if Hav doesn't start.....if we get a veteran center that would help....a Whitworth of centers, lol.

Evans got off to a slow start, he will be appreciably better next year at guard (or at tackle). He is a tough guy with good feet. If Edwards and him are at guard we will run the ball, and both have the good feet.

McVay will rethinkg the O line a bit. And, after he 'seeks' counsel, he will recognize the fact that the Rams O line needs to establish physicality---all 5....not just Hav and Evants (and Edwards is mostly physical, too).

McVay this week looked weary in interviews. I think he is in over his head with his own emotions because he recognizes that a team giving up 44 points in a 'must win' is cause for gret concern---football is about attitude, and the defense in a must win game laid down. If we had won out, we are in the playoffs (Vikes will lose 1 more game).

Rams will be back in 2020, just like the 2001 Rams came back-
-fast, aggressive and sound on defense (thanks Lovie). Ya, Goff is the centerpiece, and yes, he has to play better....and he will.

it's shifty as fuck. a company part owned by a player on the team has the team as a client.

goddell will let them do whatever they want.
