Yesterday I watched Everett on a deep ball down the sideline waiting for the ball instead of going after it. That allowed the defender to get in and break up the pass.

Our WRs and TEs don’t seem to have that mean streak to really battle for contested balls like they own it.

I know you can teach them to high point the ball but they have to want it and go get it.

I want a room full of bad asses who are smart and can run routes. I know they don’t grow on trees but the Rams need more attitude on offense.

How much of this is on the receivers coach? You would think that going after the ball aggressively would be hammered into our receivers since its obviously a trend with that group.

Receivers? That's a heck of a blanket statement. Woods and Kupp will fight for anything and everything. Van seemed to pick his game up another notch. Higbee can make a play. So saying "the receivers" just aint fair.
The issue is Reynolds and Everett. Just dont make that extra effort. And that's why they'll be gone after the season ends

Yeah, we don’t have that guy on the roster that can go up and get that 50/50 ball. Probably part of the reason Goff doesn’t take many chances downfield.
100%

And when you throw Reynolds those deep ins he drops them. Not to mention all the slants and sit down routes Everett drops and the TD’s Kupp has dropped. I can forgive the Kupp drops because of everything else he does. My patience for Reynolds and Everett is on empty. If we had a Darren Waller or a George Kittle we would be heading to the Super Bowl.

These two have had chance after chance. If Reynolds was any good he would have seamlessly replaced Cooks in 2019 but instead we felt Cooks' dropoff like there was nobody replacing him. And it's been shit since. The guy doesn't separate which can be ok with the big wideouts however he also plays like he's 5'8" and rarely uses his size in highpointing the ball.

The problem for both of them: Goff's been covering for them. Goff doesn't throw to either of them unless they're wide open. If he sniffs a DB in their vicinity he reads past both. What we saw yesterday was what happens when they're thrown to. Everett got exposed man. Just brutal.

Which reinforces what we've known around here for a while now: neither move the needle. Once again can we seriously not expect HOPKINS to know what he's doing at this point? Because again if he can line up and run the right route he needs to be given Everett's job right the fuck now. Thankfully they're in full transition now to Jefferson which IMO may pay off here in Seattle. But good God can we please see Everett get some bench time? Hopkins was advanced as a receiver he separates well and is a natural which is more than I can say about any of the others. Which is why he was drafted. So fuckin put him out there please. And if he's not able to line up right then ok we fucked that pick away.

It comes down to mindset. Reynolds and Everett don't have the right mindset. They're too passive when the ball is in the air. The WR and TE Coaches can't fix that.

Kupp Woods and even Higbee absolutely have this attitude and are get dirty work hard type guys we need on the team, jury is still out on Jefferson but I like what I see so far. I want a speed guy that will go after contested balls and attack them that would make this offense next level.

If it were just those two we would be much better in the red zone. Scheme seems to be lacking too and I love Woods and Kupp but neither of them is megaton.

Geez did Gerard Everett piss in everyone's coffee? Lol.

As to the topic it is what it is. The backup TE and 3rd WR are JAGs.

Tough crowd.
I just picked that play out of many this year because it was so blatant. At the very least he could have jumped back through the defender to get the PI.

There's only one megatron sorry if you want the second coming of him it might not happen. Be happy with the two great tough do it all WR's we have.

This thread should specifically be about Reynolds and Everett only. Higbee, Kupp, and Woods are hard nose MFers. Really unimpressed with Everett and Reynolds. Seems like they half ass too much or take plays off. Can't wait until they're gone. Play Kupp/Woods/Jefferson primarily.

WR with attitude!
