I agree I think the Rams should consider adding an Offensive weapon in round 1 but I’d rather them trade up a bit and target TE Bowers. Imagine the Rams having a top 5 TE for the next 10 years.
What about trading up to target someone like Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze?? (who we scheduled a visit with).

I agree TE is a need, but Id like to see Davis get some serious run this year.

I could see a later round WR but with #19, no I'd bet we won't? I'd take those odds as a betting man!

For sure could see us taking someone later in the draft like a Roman Wilson or that WR(s) from Texas. A ton of good prospects at WR this draft. And my personal favorite to give his father a big fuck you is drafting Brendan Rice!

I think there will be a stud CB or Edge available at 19..which will make the decision tougher no doubt. But all thing considered I still think offensive weapon is the right call after 8 years of no 1st rounders.
I'm not sure there's an offensive weapon available at 19 that's equal to what will be there at CB or edge. Possibly a OT/G and that's weapon-ish. Don't want to force an issue when CB and Edge are premium positions. BPA-ish!

I wouldn't love giving up the capital but I wouldn't cry at this. Kinda like Ozunze a bit more than Nabers these days.

Okay. I did some research on Brian Thomas. I loved his highlight film, but I don’t think he’s versatile enough for the Rams. He’s a go route type of receiver. He’s got a great speed/height combination, but he’s had some drops and the key for me was his route running at the combine. He looks fantastic running straight but he was awkward running any other routes, especially crossers. I don’t think McVay would want a one trick pony. I understand McVay loving Odunze. He is a complete receiver. I don’t think the Rams would ever be able to reach him though.

So I rescind my take on Thomas. He’s not a first rounder in my book. The Rams got Chris Givens in the 4th years ago didn’t they?

Someone should probably tell NFL teams, guys going top 17. Sounds like one thing people like is how much his route running improved over the course of this year and what that shows for his continued progress.

Time to eat your veggies before dessert. Go OT or DE at #19.

Sorry but history shows that McVay chooses to wait until the later rounds to draft a WR. (Kupp, Nacua)

Its really tough to tell until FA has happened. Hell, we might sign a WR and make this a moot point. Say if we signed a guy like Hunter and traded for Sneed or something, I could certainly see them going WR early. That said, in that situation, I would think they would go OL early, as that position is definitely not nearly as deep and talented as WR. With buyers like Roman Wilson, Corley, Pearsall, Polk, Legette, Baker, Rice, McMillian, Thrash, etc ect potentially being there for us in the 3rd, I think it would be a valuation error taking one early. I think the only 3 WR's worth the Rams taking in the 1st are the guys that are guaranteed be gone: Harrison, Oduze, Nabers.

Well Van Jefferson and Tutu Atwell were 2nd rounders.
Again not a first round pick, and we see the results. But that could also be due to the fact the Rams didn’t have a first round pick, so this year, if the Rams keep the pick, will be a mystery.

Outside of Van and Tutu I guess but they were top picks. Plus McVay has never had a 1st round pick brother! We have no clue what he'll do.

WR at #19? Boy that would be a shocker. You know how some teams can't draft well at certain positions? What position is that for the Rams? WR? No, they drafted some studs and other pretty good WRs. Kupp in the 3rd. Puka in the 5th. Reynolds in the 4th. Two positions are their blind spot. OL and CB. They've drafted 10 OL since McVay arrived. Two have worked out to some degree. Avila (#36) and Noteboom (#89). The other 8 were drafted in the 90's or later. And not one has produced well. Edwards held down LG for a while but he was a turnstile at times. And then concussion issues arrived. They've drafted 5 CBs and only 1 higher than 130 (Long at #79 and he wasn't good). My point is, draft OL high and there's a better chance for success. CB? They've yet to have success though there are 3 still with the team so they have a chance to succeed. But their best CBs were acquired via trade. Sign a CB or trade for one, draft OL early. I hope they take an OL at #19 or trade down and take one in the 20's.

Cause he's had so many 1sts. Other than the trade down from the 1st after the superbowl loss... didn't he trade his last 1st for Brandin Cooks?

OK but the quote was ... "history shows that McVay chooses to wait until the later rounds to draft a WR".

So your point was that ... Any pick after the 1st Round is a "later round"? OK.

Less confusing to just say "McVay doesn't use 1st round picks on WRs" but he's never had a 1st round pick.

Xavier Worthy or Adonai Mitchell would be my choice if we were drafting a receiver in the first round.

Worthy is no John Ross who had speed and nothing else; he's a brilliant route-runner who has pretty damn good hands. Reminds me of Desean Jackson (the one who played amazing football for the Eagles) without the diva issues.

Mitchell has some of the best hands in this class, vise grips, and he's a fairly big target, solid speed, good route runner. I've seen George Pickens comparisons (not in his character, but in overall strengths), and I think it fits.)

Think that Nabers and Odunze easily go before us, and I wouldn't trade up for them. I'm not a Brian Thomas fan.
