He's a famous pianist. I can't say I am an expert in music, certainly, but I know his name is credited with several pieces I've heard. So the photo caught my eye.

Amazing that photo and his impact on music is >150 years. :eek:

For people curious, this is roughly what it'll look like when our sun finally dies and turns into a planetary nebula. The gas is moving away at nearly a million KPH. This part of the process happens very quickly (relative to the stars lifespan) so we were lucky to get a picture of it.

I honestly wasn't sure if the photo was real, to be honest. I mean... how do you get a saw through a tree that size without the weight pinching the blade and freezing it in its tracks?

You prevent pinching the blade by hammering in wedges. Given the lower quality of steel back then it had to have been one heck of a chore to continually sharpen that saw. I need to go kiss my Stihl chainsaw.

Attack of the Ibis.

Look closely,,, these are not ducks. They are the mascot of the Miami Hurricanes. Ibis birds.

The wife and I went kayaking on Saturday and when we got back to our dock.... this is the scene we saw. Ibis birds were surrounding this lady as she let her dog out. These birds are usually very timid and stay the fuck away from people. Obviously she has been feeding them or something because they swarmed her ass to the point that she had to go pick up her dog and carry him back in her house. There were a shit load more off to the left side of the pic that I couldn't capture in the shot. It was like a scene from that movie The Birds. LOL

Looks fake to me. Look at the extreme left side of the image....the clouds are not moving. Also the clouds not filling in so far behind the mountain doesn't look realistic in my non experienced in cloud physics mind.

I say no. It appears as though the plane and the mountain are stationary during all of this, only the clouds move. It's still cool though.
