Pops was a Marine. What's funny is when they showed the family I thought to myself well his parents look squared away, which is another good sign.

Can't say enough about this pick. Feels to me like things fell our way.
Comes across really well ... intelligent, energetic, personable ... kind of the anti @Loyal

Love the pick!

Top defensive player on my Rams board.

Watched the draft with a huge FSU fan who raved about his personality and character.

Between Verse, Agent Zero, and The Conductor, opposing QBs and RBs will find little room to hide. The RamPage! will be officially on come Week One!!!

He has a similar profile to Robert Quinn with the way he manufactures pressure with the outside technique
No. Quinn could really bend and had a variety of moves. He was great with his hands. Verse is more of a power rusher.
Absolutely love this pick weeks ago and love it now that it’s come to fruition.

Tells me our FO see this draft exactly how I have. Take the talented Edge and we can pick up the rest in this talented ass draft.

Plenty of top tier DT’s left ( my favorite late draft Gabe Hall DT Baylor), WR’s and more.

Verse is going to be an absolute terror being that bookend to close the opposite side of the line.

Now time to patch up the middle of the D-Line

It’s actually considered a pretty shallow draft class
Board fell perfectly for this to happen.
I’d have to think the Falcons going for Penix allowed this to happen.

Yeah… it is.

Have no clue what yahoo you guys listen to (Albright?) judging by others that say that, but it’s a deep ass class. Especially areas we could add someone of quality.

Difference between those that listen to personalities rather than scout themselves to come to conclusions.

He's a dog. Sort of guy who will go to war against San Francisco. Clear that McVay and Snead got tired of being a finesse team.
Agreed. What is interesting with Verse is he doesn't have a very well developed assortment of techniques. It's bullrush, inside move, swat an occasional hand when he takes it wide.

So what happens when the Rams start teaching this dude some shit. Hopefully fireworks.

Physically talented, intelligent, personable, has an ex-Marine Dad as a mentor... Verse has all the hallmarks to make a fine professional athlete. Glad we got him.

We have seen road grader blockers before. This is a Road Grading Edge Rusher who pancakes his targets with extreme prejudice.

I'm glad Kobie is 'rolling out the red carpet' welcome for the former 'Gator. Verse will be added to the friendly sack competition with Kobie and Agent Zero.

Bill Bellicheat on the Pat McAfee show is fucking wild lol
Yeah it is. His takes are on point too. Not a surprise really, dude knows what he's talking about. Doesn't seem too comfortable, he's the odd one out lol, but it works.

You are literally only the second person I've heard say that, and the other one was another member of this forum. Every draft person that I have read or listened to has said that this is not a very deep draft class.

A bit of an interesting tale of the tape with Jared Verse:

He crushed the broad jump testing in the 92nd percentile and did well in the vertical (71st percentile).

But he did poorly in the 3 cone (32nd percentile) and not great in the shuttle (43rd percentile).

Many swear by the 3 cone as a measure for success for pass rushers. A sub-7.0s 3 cone is desired. Jared tested at 7.31s.

His metrics show that he is explosive with great lower body strength but not necessarily super agile or possessing quick change of direction.

His tape backs up the raw explosiveness and power. He doesn’t necessarily look stiff on film but you wouldn’t say his bend or agility stands out.

I think the Ryan Kerrigan comp is fair. Or a more explosive ZaDarius Smith. His floor is high.

I'm fine with the pick, but still preferred Newton in a trade back. Verse was the Rams guy at nineteen according to Jourdan. But if they were trying to trade back it tells me he was 'the must have guy'. The must have guy apparently was too costly to move up for.

I see Verse as a more aggressive Leonard Floyd. Floyd worked out well with the Rams, so I imagine Verse will be a good addition. I love his combination of relentless news and power.

There is plenty of talent in this class, and I’ve seen plenty that have said as much that are pretty credible.

That’s outside of doing my own assessment of watching what I can of the players that catch my attention. Going to be some pretty good gems late in this draft.

Dude is a beast. I watch every FSU game and I can remember thinking that this guy is a top 5 draft pick and we'd never have a shot at landing him. I'm very surprised.
