Let the draft fall to us imo. Plenty of upgrades will be there.

Kyren and Corum are the same kind of back...we need a speed guy to go with. Feels like a lot of the top backs outside of Jeanty are power runners or guys that are more like Williams and Corum than not.

You don't need to go speed in the backfield if you have it elsewhere. Key is having enough speed across your skill positions. So speed outside the hash (Adams & Atwell) and a brute in the backfield could work very well I think. And add a pass game TE who is a threat to shake backers or safeties across the middle and you are in business.

But of course again I won't complain if the Rams prioritize speed there. Just don't go get a dude whose speed only applies when he's got massive holes to work with. Backs need to be able to get dirty and work in traffic and shit.

Not sure that is true, there wasn't a single back at the combine that ran slower then Kyren. Plenty of the backs ran in the 4.4's, which is certainly break away speed. We need to grab one IMO.

@ottoman89 I went back and watched some Kaleb Johnson highlights. The first real was not a good representation of his skills. Huge running lanes and then he takes off. I found a few more highlights of his breaking tackles and driving behind his lead blocker. He looks solid. Not sure he'll make it out of the second round.

If Kyren doesnt get an extension done before the draft, I would say that an RB at 26 is very much in play
Do you think they trade or retain him? What would trade compensation look like? I'm thinking a 5th possibly a 4th. I would rather have Kyren lock it up and stop fumbling TBH.

If we draft a RB early, it is because he is fast, fast, fast with size. Only a handful of them in this draft. They'll probably all go in the top 100 picks. In my humble opinion, we can upgrade any position room with our first three or maybe four picks. After mock drafting WAY TOO MUCH lately, it looks like it really isn't going to be too hard to pull that off. Of course, that's what I see from over here on the couch. RB, ILB, WR, OT, CB, QB all might need attention. I think your first 4 picks will come from those positions. I'd be happy that the Rams are hitting those with youth. Nail it and win it all.

I think Jeanty overrated and think Hampton better
Jeanty had a 3.5 YPC against a good Penn State defense. How much is that proving that Jeanty fed against lower competition or just his offensive line not being able to stand up to tougher competition?

It may be a mix of things but during that game Jeanty felt like a big threat at any moment.

I question though, is he really that much better than Hampton, Judkins or Henderson? Or would those players destroy lesser competition if they played for Boise State?

I dont think a trade would happen, but it does seem a bit strange that they seemed motivated to get him extended before FA started and nothing happened. Still time before the draft but if nothing happens by then and they are in position to draft a stud RB things could get awkward. His salary for this year isnt guaranteed until after game 1 so he should be motivated to get a deal done as well. But the Rams have proven that when they have their number, it's their number

Yes and I think he's going to be a good back in the NFL. May even be a beast in the pass game for some lucky team. But that game's a reasonable example of why I don't have him up on some high pedestal vs the rest of the group. Best back? Yes. By a country mile? No. Not in this class.

I am the same way with Warren incidentally. I think he is the best TE from this class but five years from now he may not be the best pro TE. That could easily end up being a guy like Arroyo, Ferguson, etc. One or two of these guys are going to end up in the perfect situation to maximize their talent and fit, and they'll end up being the dudes.

You're entitled to your opinion. Even if it is wrong. ;)
Come on now man. We argued about Teddy Bridgewater back in the day and I said he looked too fragile.

Of course I thought Sean Marion would amount to something, so….

I have to suspect that was spell check as the R and N aren’t even close to each other.

100%.

Jeanty feasted on the bottom feeders on his schedule. Not trying to knock him because that’s what you’re. Supposed to do. But those who keep pushing he’s all great compared to others that have come out in the last 20 years need to pump those brakes.

I’ll match up the ACC schedule and that of the Tarheels against BSU’s schedule any day of the week and feel confident at the very least they come out with a winning record.

I’m curious asf to see Jeanty in the Raiders for instance where he has to be the man. He’ll produce, but not how people think

I have a feeling Martinez is going to be a beast in the NFL.
