Not a bad zombie flick. Some funny moments and all the zombies are kids.

The Martian ... 8/10

Despite the PG-13 rating, Mark Whatney was allowed to deliver a few f-bombs, which made sense, considering the harrowing nature of his situation.

They were pretty on point with the book, and the science.

The Martian

9/10

One of the most entertaining films of the year so far imo.

Love me some Damon and Daniels.

Treasure Planet

8/10

If you're looking for a heartwarming and dark animation film about pirates in space, you might want to check this out. The characters are very memorable, and it's a spin off of the classic Treasure Island book. Don't expect the same ending, though. Most people don't think that it's better than Pirates of the Caribbean, but in my honest opinion? If you want to spend an hour and thirty watching this on Netflix, it's a good bet.

Ok it's on Netflix, and it sounded ridiculous but i gave it a watch and i really liked it.
Best description i can give is Blair Witch Project meets Cloverfield....with a not so subtle sense of humor at times.
It's a Norwegian film with subtitles. Well done though. Not a "B" movie at all. It's interesting, a little intense, a little creepy, clever and also will give you a chuckle.
This genre of handheld, lost footage stuff has been so overdone with just plain unimaginative, poorly written crap films for years, but this one brings something fresh to the table. Trust me. :)
I give it 3.5/5

One thing though, if you're religiously sensitive you probably won't appreciate some of the humor. In that regard i'm definitely the target audience for a film like this. Lol.

The Intern - 7/10 Not bad for essentially a "chick flick". I'd recommend it for those hubbies out there that have to go to a "chick flick" from time to time. It's not bad at all in that regard.

The Walk

8/10

The true story of Philippe Petit who put a wire between the twin towers after they were built and proceeded to walk the wire to the public's delight and the city's dismay. There was a documentary made about this feat a few years ago and I had the pleasure of watching it so I knew the story, knew the outcome and despite that fact, I thoroughly enjoyed this film.

First of all the acting was superb with Joseph-Gordon-Levitt bringing Petit to life with all the quirkiness that is required to play someone who is just a little "different" than the rest of us. The supporting actors(only Ben Kingsley was really well-known) play characters who are all a little eccentric themselves--including one character deathly afraid of heights and who speaks little English, a stoner, a pawn shop owner and others all who make up Petit's "accomplices" as he plots to hang his wire between the towers.

It's fun to watch the planning and to muse about the fact that these people actually pulled off this crazy idea. I would have said, "You're nuts," and walked away.

And it is a mission filled with challenges and some luck.

Also--looking back in a post-911 era it's difficult to imagine that this could ever happen again.

The film is also a love story for the towers. It treats them very respectfully and Petit's closing line is heartbreaking.

So the acting, the plot, the story--it all works.

But the star of the film are the visual effects. Not only do they create believably--the twin towers, but the dizzy heights from the wire are incredible to watch.

The last part of the film is the highlight--the wire walk--filled with tension. My wife was sitting next to me uncomfortably muttering to Petit(Levitt) to get down. It was very involving.

A fantastic film, really.

See it on the big screen for the visuals.

The Martian is a good film despite the hilarious and obvious efforts that were made to keep it PG 13. I'm looking forward to "reading" the book (audible). I would definitely watch it again. Do yourself a favor and watch this one.

I saw that Sean Bean was in a movie I hadn't seen on Netflix called Black Death and figure I would give it a watch for obvious reasons. The movie was not fantastic but SPOILER ALERT Sean Bean is in it so we know he gonna die. He dies well. I recommend just fast forwarding to him being killed.

I can't figure out the Spoiler quote thing... What am I doing wrong?

There was talk about a Game of Thrones movie, which would be a prequel to the actual series. I think the idea got shot down mainly because they couldn't kill off Ned Stark (Sean Bean) in the prequel

I'm for a movie that ends with Robert Barathean being the king of the seven kingdoms. I think it would be hard to make it one 2 hour film though.

crimson peak 6/10.
seen it before. its called the woman in black. oh wait. same director, guillermo del toro. great to watch, not to great to pay attention to. Loki is in it and THE Alice (wonderland) are in it. i think i give too much credit for Pan's Labyrinth(del toro directed and wrote) ----which is a 9/10 movie---very well done, unlike this one. I figured the whole plot out in 10 minutes, a record for me. so much for plot. beautiful to watch, he really understands visual sensory, but the same old story, nothing new.
however, Pan's Labyrinth is a great movie. one of the creepiest horror monsters ever is in one of the scenes. that's it for me kids, another 9 days til i have a day off to watch something else.

Saw this movie about 4 years ago cause I was bored and thought screw it, might as well download it and give it a try even though the description of it was kinda iffy; found footage Norwegian movie about hunting trolls lol. Was really a cool movie. Thought it'd be kinda cheap and a "B movie" like you mention but as you said, it's not at all. Its a really nice movie.
