Incredibles 2 brought in a real world political line that ruined the whole movie for me. I'm gonna have to watch that one again.

Namari and the Fang clan, they were bounty hunters but ended up tag teaming with Raya. They weren't true villains.
Namari only joined her in the last 5 or 10 minutes of the film. She was a villain for most of the movie. And her mom was definitely a villain until the end.

See i didn't enjoy of the songs either. Seems like they just threw them together, which I know isn't the case in reality.

No villains? Raya was pretty good. So was Luca and Soul.

But you bring up a good point. What was the last Disney or Pixar movie w/ a villain? King Candy? That dude from Big Hero 6? I miss Scar and General Ratcliffe. Oh and Frollo. Jeez, that was Disney?

Dr. Facilier was absolutely evil in a way only Keith David could pull off. Oh, and he actually murdered one of the protagonists.

Ernesto De La Cruz was kind of a dick but didn't really play an active role until after half way into the movie.

Jackson Storm was kind of a villain, if a lazy one. He was definitely a dick.

Oh, and Syndrome was also an amazing villain that you loved to hate; he got a LOT of supers killed, which was one of his end goals. He made all the money in the world, was smart enough to make his own tech, was trusted enough to supply weapons to the governments and he could’ve absolutely gotten away with his plan if only the Omnidroid didn’t gain self-awareness at the last moment. Damn AIs…

Ernesto de la Cruz wasn’t supposed to be an active villain; it was supposed to be a twist that he was responsible for Hector’s death all along.

Honestly, to me? It’s the beginning of Midsommar that’s the scariest.

But it wasn’t too fucked up to me; I’ve written much scarier stuff.
I remember reading some of your stuff you posted here. I think 3 or 4 years ago. You still writing?

Watched this on Prime over the weekend. It's free.

It's the 2nd most fucked up movie I've ever watched... very close to being the #1 most fucked up though. It starts a little slow, but after they get to Sweden... Holy Fucking Shit Man.

Ok. I survived this movie and liked it. What's your #1 most fucked up movie?

It's been a year, but I don't recall her being an actual villain villain. It was mostly her misunderstanding the whole thing before eventually being shown the good way.

Dr. Facilier was absolutely evil in a way only Keith David could pull off. Oh, and he actually murdered one of the protagonists.

Dude got his. Hell if I was a kid watching it I would've been freaked the hell out.

Prince Naveen made me lol tho. "It is not slime, it is mucus!". Ha. I hadn't watched Princess and the Frog until last year and was really surprised how good it was.

But Dr. Facilier was in 2008, Syndrome even before then. Has there anyone recently in the past few years that has just been pure evil, and not in a corporate way or being shown the light? Maybe Lotso?

I talked about it in this thread somewhere....

Cannibal Holocaust

The director of the movie was actually arrested because they believed the scenes were real... he was arrested for murder.

Make sure to watch the uncut full version to completely fuck up your melon.

Ok. The 2nd most fucked up? What the fuck does that mean? I hope it's not your rating, but that the story is frightening. I'm gonna watch it right now, with my wife. I haven't told her it's fucked up either. I hope this goes well! (lol)

The Lighthouse 2019 7.7 / 10

willem dafoe , robert pattinson (forget about twilight, he nails this role.)

Two lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. (*imdb)

dafoe is awesome. pattinson is actually an actor just miscast in twilight a trois films. filmed in black and white and in a 1.19:1 ratio to give it a smaller look, (pre 1950's according to the director Robert Eggers of (the VVitch) fame) it's enjoyable due to the good acting and writing, etc. as my wife noted that it makes several references to greek mythology and stories during certain scenes which i certainly didn't pick up but someone smarter who is into films will.

Death on the Nile -5.0

It’s interesting. I figured out the whodunnit as soon as it was done. So that was disappointing. I like to be guessing throughout the movie.

It had a great cast but was overhyped and it wasn’t all that interesting.

2 movies I saw last week for the first time:

Anger Management - 7.5/10

Pretty funny. Had a few good laughs. Turturro steals some scenes. I watched it to find the Anger Shark reference that Kupp described of McVay.

The Island - 6/10

Michael Bay had gotten bashed over this. So much like Logan's Run and Matrix... and a few others. Sometimes the dialogue is bad, but the story and the visuals were good enough to want to watch again.

Moonfall. 4 out of 10.

Halle Berry us easy on the eyes but, the story is a mess. Felt like a bad transformers movie.

Danger Close - 4.5

There aren't enough Vietnam War movies imo. I had hoped this would be good because the battle of Long Tan is an incredible story. 105 Aussie soldiers holding off 2500 Vietcong and North Vietnamese soldiers in a rubber plantation is crazy. Only having 18 men die is even crazier. They had very little cover and the squads were separated with one being completely surrounded and having to call in artillery on their own position, then getting rescued only to have to face the same odds once they regrouped with the others. They were denied A weapons drop only to have a chopper pilot go rogue and get them the ammo. They were denied APC's and reserves only to have a subordinate defy the generals orders and take three to rescue them.

But, the movie was a disjointed mess. It had a very lame attempt at building A back story of one of the officers. Then it jumps right into battle scenes. The battle was a little confusing and poorly acted, in many cases over-acted. Maybe I'm spoiled by 'Platoon' and 'Apocalypse Now', but this was a crappy production. I guess the best Australian actors end up in Hollywood and the Aussies are left with scraps. I don't understand Australians obsession with Travis Fimmel, He is a terrible actor.

I enjoyed it maybe because I didn't take it too serious. I enjoy the cast all three of the main actors/actresses are good to me. Not gonna nominate it for an @Loyal special cinematic award or anything but it's better than a 4/10 for me.

Lol.

Wife really wanted to see it so we go.

Right at the point where Patrick Wilson meets the aliens I HAVE to hit the head, no way around it. I get up and go.

When I get back my wife says to me, "If you hadn't been in the bathroom with no way to get a hold of you I would have said 'We're leaving,'. That's how bad those 5 minutes were."

And then proceeds to tell me what I "missed,"...

'The Only Living Boy in New York' - 7/10.

I watched this on Prime. Great cast. Kate Beckinsale, Jeff Bridges, Pierce Brosnan, and Callum Turner. It starts out like a chic flick love story but evolves into something deeper. I like the philosophical dialogue.
