Well tbh there is every reason to be concerned. It is a desperation move. And we know that outside of Fuller we've had some piss poor safety play. Both Rapp and Scott overdo their cushion on some routes, are late breaking underneath on others, and generally not in good position given the route combinations. Weddle is not going to fix that shit and he's an old run-down guy who doesn't like to tackle on top of those things.

The only silver lining in all this is that in 2019 we had JJ playing the deep role and Weddle wasn't up to snuff coming up making tackles. This time around he's probably going to be the deep safety on passing downs if they adjust to Cover 3 or 1 post-snap and if the call is quarters he'll just work with Ramsey (my guess) to ensure that side is aligned properly and do his best to ensure the other side gets the right call/alignment. Getting guys lined up right is one thing Weddle will do well.

If the midget gets time or is allowed to run around outside the pocket we're gonna give up some points. If we're going to win this game we're gonna need the defensive front to dictate.

What will be telling too is Weddle's snap count. I presume it will be very high because Scott and Burgess are underwhelming as F. But they might just use him in packages where Reeder comes off. It's gonna be an interesting game. I think it's either gonna be a blowout win for us or a shootout.
Wonder if we're gonna see Gervase out there at all??? He's plays safety. Considering the thin pickings...he may get a few snaps.

FRANKY...I'M ON PINS AND NEEDLES UNTIL I SEE THE SECDONDARY FOR A FEW DRIVES...

I think so re: Gervase. He's not nearly as good in run support as Rapp or Scott but with Rapp out he's gonna get some looks.

They lost Fuller for the rest of the playoffs. So they're gonna need to solve the roles back there and given what they have to work with it's gonna take some trial and error.

This is all a game of chess by McVay to have the cards drop back and throw deep against us all day - and have AD & crew eat Murray ;)
Come on bro!!! That can be risky...especially if Murray breaks contain. Get ready to see a lot of zone defense with Williams and Ramsey logging alot of minutes out there. I think the main goal for the secondary is keep everything in front of them and get them on the ground!

At this point I will roll the dice on weddle. He knows what's happening before Rapp realizes he's burnt by not being in the right spot.

Me neither, you made a good take yet we do have our fair share of “doom and gloomers” and being a discussion board, that’s ok

We do get JR back (mia last meeting) and let’s see what Burgess brings, I’m hoping he breaks out this game

That’s a good point. I sort of forgot who was missing on The Rams Roster.

Talk about that!! Wow Jalen RAMsey was missed the Cards last game ? Makes me think how much more The Rams should fire Morris. Les is MOR(ris). Funny how Jalen5 really likes Eric Weedle & R.e.S.p.e.c.F’d him.

It makes me think about Jalen giving Weedle #20 & punching Rapp.

Either way having Weedle like Mcvay said is good just having in the Lockeroom.

Well D. Williams is gone,so depth becomes a problem? RR31 should be able to be the man.

Yes - DD21 is small & reminds me of how Jamarcus Joyner used to get picked on because of his height.

I don’t see where The Rams need much more help there though ? Could you explain more.

As a poster just stated about Jalen missing a game. Did you forget that game.I sort of did.It has been a crazy season Imo.

I guess you think The Rams offense is going to kick Azz. Either way I feel The Rams will win because The Rams DEFENSE will step up when needed.

I don't really have expectations with this game. Nothing would surprise me tbh. Just hope we get the dub.

The one BIG upside with Weddle is that the secondary shouldn’t be so badly out of place as it has the past few weeks.
