The Cards are being pretty bold with their tank. I'm going to have to be a huge Texan fan this year, lest the Cards get a combo of Caleb and Harrison Jr for the foreseeable future.
Once again what concerns me is our lack of physicality (including quickness and speed) on both lines. Although it does seem like McSnead have tried to address it.I think watching the defensive front struggle to get pressure and watching someone like Bruss whiff on blocks might have brought our confidence down a notch.
Most the big runs against the defense were in the second half where we had backups and guys who won't be on the roster soon. So I'm hoping the starters won't be as bad.
But so far I'm not seeing anything that makes me think we're a playoff team. Our starting offensive line will be better but I never viewed them as anything better than average. I'm not as concerned with the secondary as I was before. But the front 7 is something to watch.
I think its going to take time. This might be one of those learning seasons for a lot of guys. Which is something teams do when they're rebuilding. I'm approaching this season as preparation for next season. I hope I'm wrong, but its quite possible we start 0-3 and 1-4.Once again what concerns me is our lack of physicality (including quickness and speed) on both lines. Worst Team Talent in the NFL?! Call me a RAMS HOMER but I don’t believe it!! FAR FROM IT!! I think a lot of NFL FANS (Possibly, Even Some Rams Fans!) will be eating a lot of CROW after this season she the Rams make the Playoffs!!!
Yes but young talent takes time to get much better. We need multiple players to pan out as impact players pretty quickly to have a chance. I just don't see that happening early on in the season at all. They could show more flashes towards the latter half of the year, but I think it'll be too late by then for our win-loss record. When you have coaches openly admitting that the young players are going to make lots of mistakes, that speaks volumes in terms of them knowing this is not a playoff roster. Shit, our own GM just talked about how we will go back to our spending ways in 2024. Why even talk about that when we haven't played a regular season game in 2023? This is a reset year simply for cap purposes since they wanted to reload the roster sooner than later.Unproven does not equal untalented....
I've never mentioned anything about mortgaging the future and was totally fine with it because they were targeting elite talent. So many low picks and so many rookies is a whole nother ball game. Living up to ur angry name I see. It ain't that serious, its only football2017 - 2021: "They are trading away their precious draft picks for proven players OMG MORTAGING THE FUTURE BC YOU HAVE TO BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT SCREECH!!!!!"
2022-2023: "They have so many picks and so many rookies THERE'S NO TALENT OMGZ".
Double standard after double fucking standard.
