I have a real gut feeling that the WR ran the wrong route on the two deep throws that missed badly.
I think in both cases, Stafford misinterpreted what the WR was going to do. I think it's less about the WR running the wrong route and more about Stafford mistaking their intention on the option. Kupp definitely made the right call, but Stafford thought he was breaking inside.
.

felt like the rams were in control the whole way. dunno, didn't feel like the seafucks threatened the rams, even when they had the lead.

kupp's 2nd td was a fantastic football play. looked great and executed perfectly. not sure stafford makes that throw if it was any other wr.

.
That's the sort of throw that you traded for him to make. Beautifully done.

Not sure either way there but no matter how you slice it 9 misread the safety who was sitting on the throw in fact seemed to be baiting him. So the INT is on the QB.

That said I think the key here is still McVay in terms of keeping his QB grounded. Stafford's already a very aggressive QB in terms of wanting to take shots and putting up risky throws. McVay knows that. So he needs to keep him settled down vs the better defenses. Now I realize Seattle has played poorly in the secondary but they've also been improving and were getting quick pressure. So I feel like being patient in this one was important.

He did a much better job in the second half taking the shots when they were there. Although the TD to Kupp was insane, both from the decision to throw to the quality of the throw. Make that throw ten times and I don't know what happens. But they pulled it off which is what matters.

Rams still gotta do better to be the last team standing, in a bunch of different ways. But I like how things are trending.

That 2nd TD throw to Kupp gave me a semi! Ridiculous.

God, I love when we beat the Hags!

Let's keep this win streak rolling boys!

I'm confident seeing the All-22 that Kupp was right. If he broke inside, he was going to run right into the safety. By staying outside, he had a one on one and already had an edge on the CB. I don't believe for a second that Kupp would freelance. It looked like an option route to me.

Agreed on Stafford. Sometimes, he's too focused on the deep shots and not focused enough on what the defense is giving in other parts of the field. But he did a much better job in the second half managing that. I also liked that Michel emerged as the #1 HB today. I had been unsure on that, but today's game drove home to me that Michel's physical style is needed more than Henderson's speed and passing game versatility.

Maybe it was the trust Stafford had in Kupp after the INT. I saw Brady throw his Microsoft LT. I know Kupp & Stafford get after it.

I also like Zach Robinson & O’Connell
going over things with those 2.

Didn’t get to see the game since I was driving and it’s already unsafe for me to watch Rams games when stationary. Sure as fuck love seeing that final score, with the extra schadenboner-y goodness of knowing we guaranteed a losing season for the Shithawks. After all shit from last week, this won says “resilience” in a major way. Fuck yeah!!!

Ps @BonifayRam I waved at you when we passed Bonifay FLA on I-10 … pinky swear ;)

Liked the 2 catches Sony had.

Yea that 2nd TD throw was fucking nuts. The anticipation it takes to make that throw, the arm strength and accuracy to throw it on a rope into that open window and put it in that spot over the LB, all with a D lineman bearing down on him about to get hit. To me that was his 2nd best throw of the season after the throw in the 1st AZ game on 3rd & 10.

To me we will have to ride and die with his aggressive INTs. You don't make throws like the 2nd TD to Kupp unless you have supreme confidence in your own ability as a QB, and want to attack downfield. But that confidence has the chance to backfire at times, similar to Favre who had supreme arm confidence. Why I love Stafford is his INTs are almost always aggressively trying to fit the ball in, or trusting his talent too much in situations he shouldn't. Whereas Goff's INTs mostly came when he got fooled or just made an inaccurate pass. Granted Stafford I'm sure will have some Tennessee type games while he's here in LA, but overall his willingness to attack downfield will give us a better chance to win the big games. That aggressiveness fits with McVay and to see this production in their 1st year together is amazing.

But if we get hot we will still likely have to go play at Green Bay, and they have a QB who is just as deadly going down the field. Just as aggressive throwing into tight windows, yet never ever seems to turn the ball over. That just speaks to his greatness and I hope we are peaking as a team by the time we are flying to Green Bay for the NFCC.

See what happens when we have an in your face power running game ? We need to exorcise our SF demons in week 17 and I'm convinced this is how we'll do it. Run it, play simple, keep the ball as much as possible, no TOs.

This Seahawks game was a trap, we had our big game last week and couldn't train, and the Hawks really wanted that one bad. I was worried. But both sides of the ball did their job. Also two very important field goals from Matt Gay.

Crazy, unbelievable throw. Stafford makes some WOW throws out there. We are in good hands.

Never a dull moment with the Rams. This was Seattles super bowl. We’ve been on the other side of bad calls , so too bad Hags. Start your rebuild
Robey -Coleman thinks it was a good non-call

I agree plus COVID for both sides and I was scared to death for Stafford because of Bobby Evans. Overall, the defense played well considering there are no safeties that can cover a bed, plus Sony was huge and although many feel that we should have gone with the other punter, Hekker recommending Gay to McVay gives him somewhat of a pass for this season IMHO.

The Hawk fans are crying about the non-call PI. But they ignore the pulling penalty by Everett of Dallas in the red zone on the Hawks TD was not called. It's a 10 yd penalty meaning they probably end up with a FG not a TD. The non-calls went both ways.

Not to mention that formation penalty on Evans that is NEVER CALLED. He lined up the same exact way the next play...no call.

Calls are what they are good teams overcome them to win. Lets keep this train rolling!

If Kupp had broken in that ball looked like it was still in range to be intercepted especially by a good safety like Diggs.

Jrry32 you do a lot of drafting post?
I remember Hacksaw (?) was the best at giving info.He was huge on the Stltoday site.Don’t know when the draft posting changed around here. Maybe 2018? Anyway I remember 1 poster really liked Cooper Kupp & said he was the best route runner he ever saw coming out.
How Kupp became a Ram is unbelievable Imo.I liked him a lot as well.Would have drafted 2 wr’s before him.Seeing Everett on the Hags shows how lucky The Rams got.

Kupp showed last night as much as ever what he means to The Rams.He also could break the all- time yards record in a season ?
