I could be wrong about him not getting picked up! I'd throw a couple bucks at it that I'm not though.I don’t know, I’m hoping the light bulb has finally gone on for Bruss. He’s looked pretty good all through camp and seems to have formed a strong bond with Limmer. I’m think if they try to move him to the practice squad he gets snatched up.
Plus, they probably know next to nothing about the players on the field except for the laundry they wear.Agree that he's not any good but Dan is 73, and that may be a factor because I always thought he was a solid analyst on regular season games in the 1990s and early-2000s. There's a time to just step-away.
That being said, the next quality local broadcasting team that covers pre-season football, will be the FIRST quality broadcasting team I have watched and heard. The lack of objectivity, consideration of the opponent and football analysis is startling to me. Furthermore, the lack of practical experience (common among most local broadcast teams because they mostly only do pre-season games) is obvious.
I'm really interested to see if Limmer makes the 53.. seems like a lock and seems like a guy who can really play in the league. Future ramifications are definitely interesting. If they decide to save some money next year, who knows? After 25, it's very cheap to move on from Jackson, for example.
Actually, if Limmer pans out as he appears to be doing, I can see Avila's time at center being brief. If Jonah Jackson has an injury plagued year they can move on from him next year if needed and still save $3.5M in cap...they take a $10M dead cap hit, but it saves some cap space. Avila goes to LG and Limmer becomes the C.I don’t see how Limmer would survive a PS designation. There’s gotta be at least one team out there that needs a Center. I don’t know how the Rams are gonna keep him, honestly. He was graded as an eventual starter at the NFL level. By next year…who knows?
Remember when we were all screaming and pounding the table for the Rams to draft a Center? Now they could have TWO quality players at Center.
I feel like a year from now.. with a full year of NFL weights, coaching, etc.. he'll absolutely be ready to start. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Whelp, given that I weight Jourdan's opinion so much, I'm gonna see myself to the door on Bruss convo. Maybe closer to 50/50 he's on roster. Let's see him at the other guard spot! Still not sure he gets grabbed by a team unless it's one we practiced with if cut.
10/10 no notes on Speights.
Agreed, I have Heard that Limmer has been seen practicing with the 1's with Avila at G. Get the best 5 on the field.Actually, if Limmer pans out as he appears to be doing, I can see Avila's time at center being brief. I think the 22' season finally made McVay realize that he needs a strong interior OL if he wants Stafford to be more than a 2 or 3 yr player for the Rams.I think it is no coincidence that the Rams are much stronger in the middle and especially center since Wendell (a former center) has become the OL coach. Having a great OL coach is so crucial to an offense's success. Hope they can keep him around for while. I also think having Munchack around is great asset as well.
The Rams Offensive Line is in very food hands and it shows.
Where did you hear that? Not buying it.
I need to preface what I noted above is that I think a healthy Jackson is the starter period (with Avilla at Center) but if Jackson cannot go (being that he is injury prone) the best combo might be Limmer at center and Avilla back to guard. This must be in consideration since Limmer is getting some first team reps at center with Avilla at guard. I would rather see this combo with Noteboom in reserve at tackle than Noteboom at filling in a guard.Where did you hear that? Not buying it. J Jackson is close to coming back and has been doing the walk-thoughs with the first team. Havenstien has been doing the walk throughs also.
They're not benching J Jackson.
It is recently. I heard it this morning on the LA Rams Up podcast. https://www.youtube.com/@laramsup.Where did you hear Avila at G and Limmer at C reps with the 1st team? I have a source at camp and they haven't seen that. Not saying they haven't done that, Recently or weeks ago?
