Nice to hear Xavier Smith is among those taking punt returns. IMO it's his best shot to make the roster as the #6WR as well. He's short but has excellent speed and is a decent WR as well. The only thing lacking in Powell was his average acceleration. If Atwell who I hear is also taking returns doesn't win the job then Smith could be a good option. Not risking a regular depth player doing the job. When I first saw his name among the UDFA I knew he might make a good return specialist while he develops as a receiver.

#4 is Fuller and among all the safeties I think he could be the man out. Taylor brings more to the table, especially speed. That was the problem with both Rapp and Fuller was their marginal speed. With Lake, Yeast and Taylor they would be 3 deep at safety and all three bring better speed to the position.

Absolutely LOVE reading Stetson is really turning heads and looking really good.

I've been on the Stetson train the whole time!

some vids mixed in with stills. seek and you will find.

Man, Stetson looks small lol. But the kid is a baller. Also, looks like Hopkins went down injured at 5:52 holding his back. Hope that was minor with us being so thin already at TE.

Hearing Bruss at the bottom of the rotation is a bit concerning, maybe he is still getting up to speed.

Just returned home from seeing Camp today.
This will not be a long report ...... too many disctractions and blocked views from the stands that kept me from getting a good view of certain drills and scrimmaging.

- Punt return drill: Austin trammel, Xavier Smith, Puca Nacua, and Kyren WIlliams taking Reps today. I think Tutu did take some Reps later in practice. WIlliams and Smith seem to be the 2 that lloked the most smooth, although Smith did muff 1.

-ILB drills: THey run this drill in ppairs, just like how they would play on the fiels. Rozebook was with Ernest Jones, and then you either Anyalebechi or Wooden running with Jake Hummel in the second group. The group in general looked pedestriam ; nothing stood out.

11 on 11: In general it was a good day for TE's 1&2 ; Higbee & Hopkins. ON running plays, they would sometimes go in motion, and on the snap, dive into the "B" gap to block down on the DE/OLB or straight up on an ILB. The RB's had a few 10-15 yard gains getting through this gap. In the passing game, both had a number of catches. HIgbee had a nice TD grab form 15 yards out, and Hopkins duplicated it with a leaping grab over the middle for a score. Hopkins then caught a couple short yardage TD's to give him 3 on the day. There was a big drop off from these 2 to SIms & Kalinic, and with Allen out with a Hamstring and did not see Hunter Long on the field.

D-line groupings: 1st unit, including OLB's was Hoecht, Copeland, Turner, Donald, B. Young ; noteworthy that Kobie Turner was playing NT. 2nd unit: Mathis, E Brown, B Brown, D JOhnson, Hampton
There were many plays were they dropped 1 of the LIneman and lined up with 4, including the 2 OLB's... for example:
Hoecht, E Brown, D Johnson, D Hardy .... and few plays later, B young, K Turner, D Murchison, O Mathis

O-line groupings: 1st unit: LT A Jackson, LG Avila, C Shelton. RG Anchrum, RT Havenstein
2nd unit: LT Noteboom, Z Thomas, Allen, G MIller, RT Acuri
Run blocking was consistently good. However, pass blocking had some breakdowns. If it was live play, Aleric Jackson would have given up 3 sacks today. Going to need to see some improvement there.

Stafford did not participate on the field today. Bennet and Rypien took most of the Reps in 11-on-11. There were a couple of design Runs for Bennet. There was a play that fakes a Jet sweep to the WR and then Bennet reverese pivots and goes the other way. This play will catch some defense napping one day......

Of the WR's,Puca is getting a lot of reps along with Demarcus Robinson. It was only 1 day so far for me, but is he continues to play like this, Robinson may be WR3.

Last note... it is good to see some added size with the CB group. Having Witherspoon and Gray , both at 6'2" , balances out that group.
... After practive, some of the DB's stayed behind to work... Witherspoon and Rochelle were working on technique together. I was happy to see to the veteran working with Rochelle.
Thanks 8to12 for your hard work. It's much appreciated!!

Not really surprised. Wasn't really impressed with him at Wisconsin. Seemed soft.
I wasn't going to be as direct as that but I didn't love his film. I thought he needed to get quite a bit more physical (nasty) to play at the NFL level. He has the tools and the size now he needs the attitude. JMO

true but the injury he suffered was going to set him back and now he's really behind. It will take some time before he's ready.

Excited to attend Thursdays practice. For those of you that have gone already, I've seen many photos of fans with an all white Rams football (with auto's on them). Does anyone know if they sell that ball at the concessions stand? Can't find it online and son really wants one to hopefully get some auto's on it. Thank you all for your excellent reports!

Fuller? Out?
The guy is probably the biggest lock at his position in the secondary right now with Durant a close second.

Fuller on the field was never a problem.. Fuller not being able to get on the field was.

Some interesting storylines developing here in this still-early phase of camp... Let's see:

First it feels like the run game is really a focus. I don't want to get too lathered up over this but ok yes I am excited.

I like the idea of Kyren Williams on returns while also offering change of pace for the offense. That ensures plenty of chances for him to show his skills if Cam stays healthy and eats most of the carries, which is what is best for us.

Re: OL... Not good news so far on Bruss. Jackson having the edge over Boom is no surprise, though scrimmage time vs another defense might change that if Jackson gets beat too much in pass pro. McVay tends to not endure poor pass pro so hopefully Jackson polishes that part of his game going forward.

Hopkins stepping up this year and giving that room a boost in the pass game would be real nice. Also if that happens and Higs continues to show out this might mean that TE coach hire was a good one. I would very much enjoy seeing those guys push for some 12 sets and change the complexion of this offense.

DL rotation seems to indicate that Brown has not impressed. I expected him to be pushing for a starting role by now, particularly with two quality interior DL going out the door this offseason. On the flipside it sounds like Turner is gonna be a player for us.
