I told you guys Stetson Fleming Bennett IV was a hidden gem....Like a rhinestone cowboy.

How does this have anything to do with a Byron Young post ? They were both in the SEC? Did Young ever get a sack on Stetson? He Gems were well protected behind that Georgia OLine. Let’s hope the counter mate is successful.

The YouTube on Bryon Young goes on about Bennett too.

Wait a second … wait a damn second! His middle name is Fleming?!?

Now, I really don’t like the pick!

More I watch Young the more I like this pick. Been making myself endure Tennessee tape (hate all orange teams it's a thing for me) and the way they use him you can see the guy has plenty of physicality. He plays some inside technique at times on the rush and looks good doing it.

Also there's examples of him being late to the edge in the contain but having the lateral movement to get there regardless. Honestly if this guy can round the corner in a few ways of his game those things being polishing his rush and reading his contain better to avoid giving up that edge we could have a player on our hands in short order.

My mind tells me this guy is gonna need a year. But gotta admit I'm hoping for more. And this draft feels like it's going to swing largely based on how this player develops.

A likely rookie starter and the latest beneficiary of the Donald effect!

Per PFF, Byron Young ranks as the 5th highest edge defender IN THE LEAGUE. He is ranked ahead of the 3rd overall pick in the draft, Will Anderson. That Ramsey trade is starting to take shape! Honestly, a potential elite young cheap edge defender is immensely valuable.

High effort alongside AD is a nice combination. The dude gives full effort snap to snap and is improving. Adding him and Turner where they did was some excellent drafting.

Reminds of what AD told Snead when they let him know they are going to rebuild the team with the draft and what AD told them back “ just make sure they care”.

You can tell worth his draft class that has paid many dividends this year.

I must confess. I did not see Young doing much this year. I was optimistic he would be better than Ebukam Samson and Okoronkwo but thought it would take at least 2 years to acclimate. While it’s early in his career I am impressed and raising expectations to be better than Floyd or Fowler.

For the rookies and young veterans, I expected most of the growing pains to take place in the first half of the season. I thought they would begin owning their positions during the second half of the season. Obviously, some of these young 'uns are making impressive noises already. It would be really sweet if we take at least two of the next three games and go into the Bye Week at 5-4. If we take all three contests, we are looking at a 6-3 ledger. How is that for Aaron, Matthew, Cooper, and a bunch of snotty-nosed kids? :laugh1:
