I almost took you seriously for a secNah. He's not explosive. In addition to that unimpressive 4.43 40, he only jumped 38 inches in the vert and 11 feet in the broad. Terrible athlete.

Call me crazy but I think he was being sarcastic given that his measurables are off the charts.Football is played in pads though. Let's see what he can do. Plenty of players blossom into good NFL players that vastly out-perform what one would expect based on their measurables alone.
Apparently, the Rams have their own advanced analytics on players to try and project NFL success. Perhaps Young scored well on those.
I did not watch him play in college but on his YouTube clips he looks athletic enough to me for his draft position.
He can be hands in the dirt with a 4 man front or stand up and we do bothUnless the Rams are going to a 4 - 3, I see Byron Young as an Edge OLB.
What ? That seems like he can get off the ball. Plus he has a tough mindset.
What's funny is at the end of the game he finishes with multiple tackles for loss and an INT. The boy flashes. Also he puts a RT on his ass on one play with his rush so I agree he's got power to develop.Quoting this from the draft thread for more relevance here.... the first 3.5 minutes of that video was not great and you can see why he is definitely not an every down player yet but the last half of the video he really turns it on. If his secondary wouldn't have given a bunch of deep shit so quickly he would have easily had a few sacks. Definitely a bit raw and only a pass rusher at the moment but that's what gets paid the big bucks.
Lightweight end?Don't care for it. These lightweight ends never work out.
Reminds me of the Atwell pick to be honest. High ceiling. Low floor.
If this guy produces like Ebukam I’d be happy.Call me crazy but I think he was being sarcastic given that his measurables are off the charts.
That being said, I don't have very high expectations here it takes more than just running fast in a straight line to be a good pass rusher.
Samson Ebukam had a similar athletic profile and ended up as just a guy albeit with the occasional explosive play here and there.
I know what you’re saying but that’s a low bar.If this guy produces like Ebukam I’d be happy.
I like the pick. I wish he was stout against the run but where the Rams took him you can’t exactly expect a complete player.
This is the first Rams draft that I’ve been happy with in years. This guy may have some things to learn but he sounds like a coachable player.
