The defense is pretty healthy.. we needed to lean on them like in 2020

and they have done nothing.

Yes the offense is bad right now for various reasons... we really needed the defense to carry us and they have went the opposite way.
I guess?
AShawn was out in second.. Floyd has been playing hurt.. Fuller is out.
Not defending the D.. I just think the suggestion they were going to have to carry the team doesn’t reflect the personnel lost/added plus injury.

Yea McVay went from arguably the best young coach in the league to needing to be fired...some of the logic around here lol.

There are ways maybe he should've pivoted in certain areas offensively, but putting this year on him given our health and the state of the defense is literally insane.

Main issues as I see it.

SB hangover affecting everyone from coaches to players etc... It happens. Part of the reason no SB repeat champs since 2004.

Inability to run the ball. Banged up OL or not, you have be more effective running the ball. They have been historically bad. The run schemes need to be fixed for next yr. This is on McVay & Carberry.

Unreal number of OL injuries...Now our off the street guys are going down. No team survives that type of attrition at such an important position group.

Lack of young up and coming talent. Lack of hitting on top 75 pics and lack of top picks in general is showing up big time.

Lack of overall depth, especially QB & DL. We have no back up QB that could get it done for a few games if called upon and the DL has no depth that can give Donald, Floyd, or Gaines a breather.

Compared to the rest of the league at this point of the season, that is super healthy.

Look how many Saint defenders were out today. Look at other teams. Then alsi compare to the long list of offensive injuries.

The D is incapable of getting turnover. How is that possible with a D featuring Donald & Ramsey?

Hottest of Hot takes. Also downright ridiculous.

Yeah, his play-calling could be better and...wait for it...don't get me started on the absolute shit-tastic situational defense they're playing but come on...

Injuries have derailed everything. 10 OL combos in 10 games. WR1 is out. Starting QB now is likely done for the season even if he can return. Injuries in the defensive backfield are part of why we're running a zone that would let your grandma haul in an 8 yrd completion.

If the Rams offense was healthy, how good would the Saints D look?

Stafford lead them to a halftime lead and got hurt… with a joke Oline.

The team isn’t good.

I don't know why Salah didn't have his punter kick it out of bounds with little time on the clock tied a 3 in the 4th quarter. A great punt return for the game-winner for Marcus Jones. Very poor coaching.
along with a few illegal block in the backs... no way that return should have held up.. should have been 1st and 10 on the Pats 4 yard line

We just are not good enough to give up 3 points going for a 1st down on 4th and 1. That was the bone head coaching decision that made me say.......no bueno! Go for it earlier a few years ago maybe. This year, a no Brainer. Coach is having brain farts out there.......sheesh
Yeah it is not his best season, but he is still better than most. They also had a good run of luck last year. When they had key injuries they were able to, in mid season mind you, trade or find free agence, which is not the norm.
No coach would be able to over come the OLine infuries. It seems as soon as we get something that might hold we get another infury and boom Evans is back in.

McVay has earned the benefit of the doubt. Well earned.

Having said that, there’s been a lot of questionable decisions, play calls, etc. this season. Hopefully getting all the crap out this year and we have a clean slate next season.

I don't recall saying anything different.

I am just saying you can't use injuries as an excuse for this defense. They are incredibly healthy. Now maybe they simply are not good enough, but it is not because of health.

I'm sorry, you used the Saints as an example, so I was just comparing the units.

I'm not using injuries as an excuse.. I just don't know that they're exceptionally healthy. Healthy enough, I guess.

But, yeah, not good enough, for sure.

the coach is the problem

Got married, got paid and then got soft. I never expected this. I thought we'd be better this year.
I think you mis-spelled "paid".....
Just spitballing here.... :laugh4:

“Women weaken legs.”

That's actually a quote from the first Rocky film where Mickey (Burgess Meredith) told Stallone/Rocky not to engage in marital activities (okay he didn't quite put it that way but ya'll get the picture...) before a fight because "women weaken legs."
Not sure what weak legs have to do with coaching but at this point I'll believe anything......

It's hard to make chicken soup with chicken feathers, boys. Gotta restock the cupboards. The roster is very top heavy, little depth.
