Here is a collection of ROD members’ selection for Round 2 (some after a trade down). I’ve included the dates the picks were posted, as some may be a little outdated in light of free agency and trades.

Flatlyner (3/17): John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota
HitStick (3/20): Felix Andudike-Uzomah, EDGE, Kansas State
Riverrumbbq (3/17): Adetomiwa Adebawawore, DE, Northwestern
OldSchool (3/16): B.J. Ojulari, EDGE, LSU
OnceARam (3/13): Felix Andudike-Uzomah, EDGE, Kansas State
AvengerRam (3/7): Adetomiwa Adebawawore, DE, Northwestern

And, some other picks from the “experts”:

Vinnie Iyer (TheSportingNews): Matthew Bergeron, OT, Syracuse
Chris Trapasso (CBS Sports): Mazi Smith, DL, Michigan
Jeff Risdon (Draftwire): Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota State
WalterFootball: Tyler Steen, OL, Alabama
Chad Reuter (NFL.com): Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia
DraftTek.com: Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland
Luke Easterline (Draftwire/USA Today): B.J. Ojulari, EDGE, LSU

Who do you like?

My March 5 mock had Adetomiwa Adebawawore in the 3'rd round after a trade down, but following his ripping up the Combine, he went straight to the 2'nd round. I continue to stand by his selection at the very top whether by trade down or not.
Nolan Smith is the only other player I'd take with our 2'nd rounder without trading down, and him still being available is extremely unlikely.

Wow, some of those expert picks would make me literally sick. The only real picks I'd be ok with from the "experts" is N.Smith (won't be there), Banks (unlikely to make it to 2nd now), and Ojulari. One of Edge, CB, or IOL for me and I'm happy. Schmitz would change the whole outlook on the OL however and Edge/CB is deeper then OC in this draft I believe.

His crazy combine may have pushed him into the 1st even. I, admittedly, haven't seen much of him. But that combine tho.

Guess that makes us Team AA!

He’s 5th on my draft board, but 1-4 are guys I think are long shots for Round 2. AA next to AD really intrigues me.

That 1'st round is very deep, so I feel there is a good chance for Ade to make it to our 1'st pick. Hope so anyway. jmo.

I mocked AA to the Rams in the 50's after a trade-down. Some guys didn't like that.

Some may regard him as a workout warrior. His Senior Bowl week tells me he’s a football player, not just an elite athlete.

I'm really starting to like the idea of b.j. Ojulari. Dude has all the pass rushing juice and I can live with him being bad against the run for now.

earlier in the year i wanted two offensive line men with our first two picks. after all the trades and cuts i think this draft has to be almost all defensive. now i just hope we use a late rnd pick to get a big nasty fb.

Avenger, you forgot mine and CGI's pick in the 2nd round

"With the 36th pick, the Los Angeles Rams select Jamyr Gibbs, Running Back, Alabama."

I want an impact player. Don't care what position, though it would make me very happy to come away from an epic TE draft with an actual TE. Especially seeing our history with the position and McVay's struggles with the position in spite of the fact he was a TE coach.

Also wrt TEs I think there is a lot of BS out there.

Like for example I see LaPorta going round 3 in a lot of mocks but when I watch him in the pattern I think to myself "this is a guy who is going to feast in the pass game for some lucky team." He separates and looks like he'll make a killing in the NFL running option routes with those natural skills he possesses. Now I realize his blocking sucks. I mean he's willing but that's not an area he's gonna help you. But he is not Gesicki or one of these rarely talented types where his workout or raw gifts will wow you but he'll disappear. He is more a guy who will consistently threaten teams underneath even as a rookie if used correctly. That is precisely the type of player we could use in this draft.

I see the Notre Dame kid listed as a slam dunk first round pick but I don't see that. I suspect he may fall close to us and he is a guy we plug in day one and benefit. Though maybe he's not the best TE from this class three years in, which is why I think he might fall a little bit.

Musgrave looks the part and has good hands but what he lacks is body control. He goes down to first contact on most receptions and personally that bugs the shit out of me. I think he is listed way too high on mocks. PFF has him at 33 which to me is a full round higher than he should go, though I must admit I am guessing there with no board to use as a reference. But I like so many other TEs more than him.

My fear is we take Washington, who is one of the biggest freaks I've ever seen as a TE. Because I don't like how he disappears. I like TEs who are always open, the guys who feast on option routes. But I think he will go higher than people have him in spite of that lack of production. I expect that 20-30 range some successful team will make him their luxury pick due to that upside.

So for myself there are two TEs that I covet in this class: Kraft and LaPorta. I think both help this team in year one, and are key playmakers for us in year two and beyond. What I don't know is where it is appropriate to draft them. LaPorta's lack of physicality will drop him but by how much. Kraft has the small school knock but will that allow him to be around after we trade down a couple times to accrue more picks. Because to me there's a big dropoff from those two in terms of their ceilings, to my eye at least, compared to some of the others who will be there in rounds 3 and 4. Thus an ideal draft to me involves a small move down and then us taking one of those two TEs.

I wonder if we do pick Gibbs in the 2nd round, if Akers will cry like a baby and demand a trade?
If Gibbs falls to us I don't think anyone will care what Akers thinks. This includes the Rams.
