How does that solve the cap problem? That adds 4.5 mill of dead cap. Going to replace in house? Or with a rook? Among the FA guys out there, most will cost more than the 10 mill "save" and its a gamble they will replace his production. And anyone who will cost less than 10 mill may save a couple bucks on the cap, but will cost the team on a position downgrade
I think your off the Mark a bit about needs. Time will tell, you could be totally right.
Maybe but what are our needs?
QB? Nope
RB? Nope
WR? Nope
TE? Hmm. Depends on Hopkins.
DL? Nope
S? Nope
CB? Sure, you can never have too many good CBs
ILB? Yeah, we could use somebody who can beat our Reeder
OLB? I think we're in pretty good shape there
OG? See CB
C? Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
How do you line up our needs? We're pretty damn close to a complete team with a couple of minor tweaks.
Top needs in my view...
C - stop gap vet AND future starter via draft.
LB - draft pick, inside thumper to help handle GB & SF ground attacks.
CB - draft pick or waiver claim, always need to add depth here
DT - draft pick, quick twitch pure pass rusher to help Donald
WR - mid rd draft pick, deep threat, stretch the field guy
OT - draft pick, developmental, potential future LT.

This seems to be about $1M off per restructure based on RapSheets report. But gives a pretty good idea how much cap room we can create. We're definitely not done in free agency.

Hoping at pick 57 a future LT prospect is worth the pick.. Little LT Stanford is someone I am watching closing leading up to the draft
Missing the biggest need of all LS. Maybe it was the first three dings on C.Maybe but what are our needs?

This must mean Whitworth is returning, unless there is some salary cap alternate universe explanation.
If so, this is a big deal, even if an expected one.
I merged two "what are Rams doing about restructuring" threads. I normally leave the older thread but this one seemed to have the more appropriate title.
Don’t know what universe you’ve been living in. That was a no brainer.
Andrew Whitworth is The Best FA signing under salary cap rules were
in place.
He seats in The Rams Front Office shooting the shit. The Rams are paying him as much as they can,but still control cap space. He is a leader, mentor & great in the community.
He got lucky last season. The 2019 season was brutal vs opponents.
I wonder if the Rams will officially introduce Matt Stafford tomorrow
doesn't the new year start like at 4:00 PM , or summtin like that
I believe Jordan Rodriguez said she'd anticipate it being later in the week.I wonder if the Rams will officially introduce Matt Stafford tomorrow

LOL. They signed 2 of them anticipating McQuaide joining Bones in Dallas. Steven Wirtel and Colin Holba.
