I don't believe those numbers are ever accurate.
I could totally be wrong.

Are nfl teams under any obligation to provide acurate and up-to-date data about players weight or height or age..etc..?
True but what’s the benefit of listing an underweight number? If anything, I’d expect them to oversell his weight.

To catch cocky DBs (that was redundant) by surprise who think he's still 165? If he bulked up to 180 (not that in saying it's happened) and they report that it might encourage other teams to take him more seriously. That's the opposite of what the Rams want. As long as it says 165, he's a joke. Younger/cockier/less experienced might sleep on him a little bit. These guys are pros, but they aren't robots. They aren't making the perfect decisions 100% of the time. Like a trap game, under reporting how weight might make him a trap match-up. Hopefully. Maybe. If we're lucky. Unlikely, but it would be nice.

He could be in the 170s maybe, but no way he’s 180 based on the pics and videos that have been posted.

I'm pretty sure I addressed that when I wrote "not that in saying it's happened" (the "in" was supposed to be "I'm", sorry for the typo). It was an example of why they might under report his weight, not an analysis of his current weight based on photographic evidence.

Interesting since the Rams roster has always listed him as a TE when he was drafted they called him a TE and when McVay described him all last year he was a TE. He made one comment that Harris did a some "receiver stuff" for us and that's it. The rest of the time since being drafted the Rams have classified him as a TE. When Mundt went down Harris was listed as a guy that could see time in that role. I get it McVay called him a TE a time maybe two. But the Rams and McVay have always listed him as a TE.

I may be ‘misremembering’ but I think Jourdan tweeted it too.

Tweeted the same comment that McVay said once maybe twice? Wouldn't be a surprise at all. This is funny too, and I do this a lot myself, people hear something from McVay or one of the coaches and run with it because it aligns with a thought they had. If it doesn't they call it coach speak though. We all do this for things we want or don't want. But so far the only official position designation we have from the Rams is Harris is a TE. It might change but we don't know yet as they're just starting organized practices.

I can’t see it changing. There is too much traffic at Wide Receiver.

If the coach did say it then he must have been thinking it. Maybe it was based on what McVay saw from Harris last summer, like zero blocking skills. But then he never officially changed the designation because Harris doesn’t stand a chance breaking into the WR ranks.

My guess is that Harris never makes it as a starter. The entire draft strategy was silly. Not relying on tape but focusing on measurables because of CoVid shortened seasons was lazy. There was still film out on players.

I do find the combination of Bobby Wagner and Ernest Jones very intriguing though. Imagine possibilities. Gone are the days of Troy Reeder. I'm so damn psyched for the season already.
Yeah… the two of them together is exciting. Jones looks to have great blitzing instincts on top of everything else.

Yeah and I think it's a mistake to try to put weight on Tutu tbh. 10 lbs isn't gonna help him, it might make things worse by slowing him down. He's gonna have to survive as a flyweight in this league.

I think he needs to add some muscle to his shoulders and chest and build his legs up just a bit

Right now his legs are twigs and he can be tackled by a pinky

This was in Jourdan’s column about OTA’s.

I concur I also believe we could see both of them involved in a blitz package to pressure opposing QB 's too.

Top Takeaways from Rams minicamp 2022

Jun 10, 2022 at 09:00 AM/Stu Jackson

Mandatory minicamp 2022 is officially a wrap. With that in the rearview mirror, here are some of the top takeaways from that three-day period which concluded the team's offseason workout program.

Competition at right guard

The Rams had two key voids to fill along the offensive line this offseason between left tackle Andrew Whitworth's retirement and right guard Austin Corbett's departure in free agency. They addressed the former by signing Joe Noteboom early in the offseason, but the latter remains an ongoing process.

Minicamp provided a preliminary look at some of those candidates to succeed Corbett, with rookie Logan Bruss, Coleman Shelton, Tremayne Anchrum Jr., Bobby Evans and Alaric Jackson all mentioned by head coach Sean McVay.

"I think the champagne problem, if you will, is figuring out how do you get that right guard spot, to find find the best five guys, and that continuity up front is going to be key and critical for our success," McVay said after Day 2.

On Bruss specifically, McVay said "we've liked what we've seen from him up to this point," but at the same time – in what applies to the group as a whole – it's still difficult to evaluate each player until they are in the competitive settings like training camp.

Big Whit's "open door invitation"

As a 6-foot-7 offensive lineman, Andrew Whitworth is hard to miss. Especially on the practice field where he spent so much of his time from August through January and February over the last five seasons.

Even in retirement, he is unsurprisingly still finding ways to remain around the game and the Rams. On Tuesday, he was on hand for Day 1 – not in a helmet, pads, and cleats, of course, but at the hip of several Rams coaches while watching practice.

"He's one of those guys that he's meant so much to us, so there's an open door invitation whenever he wants to come out and be able to provide some of his expertise and understanding of what allowed him to play at such a high level for such a long period of time," McVay said following Day 1.

It wasn't the first time Whitworth visited a Rams offseason workout or practice since retiring, but it certainly doesn't sound like it will be the last.

Scaling it back, but for good reason

Traditionally, minicamps last three days, but the Rams technically did two for theirs this year. That's on top of cutting back the length of the entire offseason program from nine weeks to eight.

Coming off the longest season in NFL history – the Super Bowl was played a week later than usual with the move to a 17-game, 18-week regular season – McVay felt it was a justifiable approach, between not only wanting to keep players healthy during the offseason.

On Thursday, McVay said the team would lift weights, have a meeting and then be dismissed.

"The main reason (for going from nine weeks to eight) is because we're kicking off on the September 8 game, so we report (to training camp) a few days earlier," McVay said. "So I figured, because of that, still wanted to get guys the normal five-and-a-half, six weeks break, let players, coaches, everybody get recharged while staying in a good rhythm and routine."

I feel strongly that Bruss will get his shot with Tremayne Anchrum giving him the most competition unless they both fail and the Rams turn to Coleman Shelton. IMO, Shelton is too valuable as a swing player and being the backup Center too, so they would rather him be the 6th man if you will. Also everyone knows how I feel about Bobby Evans & IMO, A.J. Jackson (McVay called him A.J.) is more of a tackle then Guard, so I see him backing up Noteboom come September.
