I really like this pick at this stage of the draft. He can be a solid backup in the NFL with some proper tutelage.
Yeah he's got none of the physical tangibles that teams are drafting for in the upper rounds but he's got good instincts, some escapability, nice touch, accuracy and zip within 30 yards, understands how to look off defenders and he's already comfortable from behind Center.

178th pick is used on Nate Herbig, G, Stanford

This guy would probably make the Jaguars roster since they aren't exactly stout at Guard. Good value here I think.

On behalf of @TK42-RAM with the 180th pick of the ROD Mock Draft the New York Giants select...

Sean Rawlings, C/OT, Ole Miss

upload_2019-4-6_19-23-52.jpeg

Height: 6-5. Weight: 294.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.

3/16/19: Rawlings opened the season well against Texas Tech, although he was banged up for a lot of the year. The senior started at center in 2018, and that is probably his best fit for the NFL.

8/28/18: Rawlings has mostly played right tackle during his career at Ole Miss with some time at center. For the NFL, he is going to need to get stronger and add weight to his frame. Rawlings could be a candidate to be a backup tackle, guard or center as a late-round pick.

With the 181st pick the Buffalo Bills select: Daniel Wise, DT Kansas

Daniel Wise
IDL, Kansas

  • Conf Big 12
  • Jersey #96
  • Class Senior
  • HT 6'3"
  • DOB --
  • WT 290 lbs
Run Defense - At his best when he can penetrate gaps and work into the backfield. Was tasked with two-gapping duties in college and that isn’t his game, as we saw at the Shrine Game. Contact balance is inconsistent and he’s on the ground a ton. Sharply finds the football and battles to play through blocks and finish. Relentless in backside pursuit.

  • Pass Rush - Excellent first step and his hands are active. Shows a variety of pass rush moves and combinations. Deliberate, sudden and aggressive with his hand counters. Often gets home on secondary effort. Keeps working his hands until he can soften an angle. Feet have a tendency to deaden on contact and he’ll waste greased angles.

Effort - The man sells out on every single play, almost to a point where he lacks control at times. Makes plays on account of secondary effort with regularity. Never content being stuck on blocks and he keeps battling through whistle. Outstanding effort in backside pursuit and he’ll chase plays from distance.

Hand Technique - Works into the neutral zone rapidly, with deliberate effort to win with first contact and establish his hands. Deploys a variety of counters, that are well-timed and sudden. Strikes carry some pop to them. Does well to clear his pads and not get hung on blocks.

Flexibility - Super loose in the upper half to reduce his surface area and get skinny through gap. Not overly bendy when cornering but he attacks edges with good tilt and the ability to press a tight angle. Fairly fluid change of direction ability.

Play Strength - He lacks mass and his functional strength is only average. The key to him holding up at the point of attack is winning with first contact and playing with extension which he does reasonably well. Contact balance is below average and can get bumped off his spot.

Play Speed - Plays fast, bordering on reckless at times. Urgently attacks the neutral zone, often times with no regard for reading the set of his blocker. Everything he does is executed with a high degree of effort and intensity.

Lateral Movement - Easy movement skills up and down the line of scrimmage. Attacks quickly and relentless in backside pursuit. Flows towards the sideline with ease. Has terrific range overall.

Versatility - Played 5-technique in college, tasked with two-gapping duties which is not how I would deploy him in the NFL. Profiles as a penetration-style three-technique in an even front. Playmaking potential is present against the run and pass.

    BEST TRAIT - Gap Penetration
    WORST TRAIT - Contact Balance
    RED FLAGS - None
Used as a two-gapping five-technique, Wise was miscast at Kansas which became evident during Shrine Week where he was given the chance to function as a penetration-style three-technique and dominated. Wise is an aggressive gap penetrator with good burst and active hands. There is some fine-tuning required to deploy his attack more effectively and more strength is needed, but Wise can serve as a wrecking ball at the next level with playmaking potential against the run and pass. He has the upside to crack the rotation early in his career and command a fair percentage of the reps as he develops.

Round Grade - Fourth Round Value
