You are mistaken on both counts. Foles was in the pocket, had thrown the ball, and the hit came late with no flag. As long as I'm thinking of the same play. If not - I dunno. I was watching it on a tv in a casino in Reno. But I am not trying to make a point about the hit on Foles. I didn't think it looked malicious but I also didn't think Joyner's hit looked malicious.Let me paraphrase one of your fellow posters. "If QB's don't want to get hit, they should throw the ball sooner." If I remember correctly, Foles was out of the pocket and trying to extend the play. And if I am not mistaken, Joseph was called for it.
I'm sorry man but if you are a QB and you are going to run, you shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of a rule by waiting to slide only when you realize you are going to get throttled. That rule is designed to allow QBs to get down before the defender starts his launch toward him. By taking advantage of that rule, the QB is giving up yardage. Teddy did nothing of the sort. If Teddy gets down earlier, we are not having this conversation.
I provided the youtube video of the hit in a recent post here. Look at the speed and angle Joyner is heading at Teddy. Are you saying anyone could pull up on that? Or are you saying that QBs shouldn't be allowed to be hit that hard when they tuck the ball down to run? It's one or the other.
