Rams won’t have Kiser or Rapp vs. Jets, unsure about Lewis (yahoo.com)

The Los Angeles Rams are still awaiting the returns of Micah Kiser and Taylor Rapp, who are both on injured reserve with knee issues, but it doesn’t sound like either player will be back this week against the Jets.
Sean McVay spoke to the media on Monday to open Week 15 and he indicated that their statuses aren’t going to change. Both are expected to remain on IR for another week. Kiser and Rapp have each missed the minimum three games since landing on IR, so they could be activated as soon as they’re healthy.

McVay also shared an update on Terrell Lewis, who has missed the last two weeks with a knee injury. He’s unsure whether the rookie will be available against New York despite Lewis going into Week 14 against the Patriots without an injury designation.

Rams HC Sean McVay said "we'll see for this week" regarding status of OLB Terrell Lewis (knee).
No changes for LB Micah Kiser or S Taylor Rapp's IR status this week.

In Kiser’s place, Troy Reeder has played well, as has Kenny Young in the last two games. At safety, Jordan Fuller and John Johnson never come off the field and won’t even when Rapp returns, but Rapp would likely supplant Nick Scott as the top backup.

How ya feelin' now?

Just messin' cuz I know we all are celebrating this win, but who's not buying on Cam Akers now?
I gotta admit Cam exploded bro...and that's great...especially when I learned during the game that Henderson is injured.

I gotta see the consistency from Cam...but we already knew the Rams have 3 good RBs. Cam"s taken the lead...no doubt about that...

"However, McVay added that the team will err on the side of caution because they want to make sure it’s safe for Whitworth to be ready if there’s a potentially deep playoff run. "

Well, if there was a week where we had to deal with players being out due to covid the Jets game is about the best possible scenario. Hopefully their caution keeps it contained.

Cautiously optimistic about this covid scare. It's the right week for it if there ever was one and it didn't just smash us like it has some teams. Get well soon fellas!

Report: Rams have five players miss practice after one positive COVID test - ProFootballTalk (nbcsports.com)

Rams’ COVID-19 scare keeps five players out of practice – Daily Breeze

The Latest: Sun Belt championship game canceled | Miami Herald
Five backup players missed practice with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday after a positive COVID-19 test within the organization. Linebackers Justin Hollins and Ogbo Okoronkwo, safety Nick Scott and offensive linemen Bobby Evans and Brian Allen weren’t in the workout while the Rams conducted contact tracing the further tests, coach Sean McVay said.

The Rams didn’t reveal which player tested positive, but Evans was listed as being absent from practice with an illness, while the other four players had a different designation on the injury report.

Hollins and Scott are the biggest contributors to the Rams (9-4) in the affected group. Hollins has played 31% of the Rams’ defensive snaps this season, while Scott has played 18% of the defensive snaps, with his playing time increasing recently.

Rams OLB Terrell Lewis’ status for Sunday is TBD (usatoday.com)
Terrell Lewis' status for Sunday is TBD despite being back to full speed

Terrell Lewis hasn’t played since Week 11 due to injury, missing the last three games. The rookie experienced some swelling in his knee after the Rams’ win over the Bucs and needed to have it drained, thus sidelining him for a few weeks.

He didn’t have an injury designation going into last week’s game against the Patriots, but he was still inactive – which would technically make him a healthy scratch. Leading up to Sunday’s matchup with the Jets, his status is still up in the air.

Though he wasn’t on the injury report to open the week Wednesday, meaning he was a full participant with no restrictions, he’s not certain to play against New York. Sean McVay likes the progress Lewis has made but won’t commit to him suiting up Sunday.

“He’s doing good. We expect him to be back to full participation,” McVay said. “What that means as far as for his status for the game is to be determined. We have a lot of depth at that spot, so we’ll see how the week goes, but that’s a good thing for us.”

The Rams have gotten excellent play out of Leonard Floyd and Justin Hollins recently, lessening the urgency and need for Lewis to return. Not to mention, they just added Derek Rivers a couple of weeks ago and got Ogbonnia Okoronkwo back, strengthening the depth at edge rusher. The Rams have no need to rush Lewis back if there’s still some concern, especially against the Jets in Week 15.

 Not good situation with the biggest game of the year coming up next week in Seattle.:sick:You have to ask how long with this covid situation run on into next week to hit the roster for that important game?

OLB'er Justin Hollins is my biggest concern. Next would be Og Okonronkwo because he is also an OLB'er. There is OLB Natrez Patrick who has been active for 10 gms thus far. It may be time for him to see considerable defensive snaps. After Patrick there is no other OLB'ers ...Polite is on PS IR due to Covid-19.

NOTES: LB Terrell Lewis (knee) practiced with the Rams on Wednesday, and McVay said they expect him to be back to full participation this week. McVay still isn't sure whether the rookie will play Sunday.

As for the lack of that 3rd safety that Nick Scott has been playing.......No real issue here Rams can go with JR Reed or Juju Hughes in place of Scott or bring up Jake Gervase. All of them could stand to see a good amount of snaps with this defense anyway. Hughes has been active for 9 gms & new guy Reed has been active the last 4 gms.

With our 6th & 9th OL'ers out & our #1 OL'er still on the IR we might see Jamil Demby be called up as an emergency OL'er. But Shelton & Anchrum should be all good for for all five OL post as back ups!

With our #6 top reserve on IR this weekend's game we just might see Coleman Shelton for the first time including OL'er Tremayne Anchrum. Sounds positive for the Rams. Staley will get lucky with our two OLB'ers.
Scott was getting some burn on defensive plays. Who will rotate into his position with injuries to Rapp and Burgess?

J.R. Reed is my first choice, but they seem to like JuJu Hughes.
